00:00If you're growing sweet peas this year they are going to need a frame to grow up and this
00:04is how to make your own. I'm using hazel that I've cut from the garden because it is very strong
00:14but
00:14it's also flexible. The first thing we'll do is take four quite sturdy branches and make our frame
00:23almost like in the points of a compass. Okay, stick them firmly into the soil, two, third.
00:37Right, we're just going to take a little bit of natural garden twine and because we're going to
00:43be using multiple branches to make the wigwam we might as well secure these ones first and then
00:48we can add in the rest of them. You can kind of cross their branches so that they almost support
00:53themselves. So secure that into place and then we can fill in these gaps with the rest of our branches.
01:03That's the base of our frame pretty much done. What you can see though is that we've still got
01:08quite big gaps. We could fill that with some more branches or you can tie your twine around it
01:15horizontally and create a bit more of a frame at sort of two different levels for the vines to grow
01:22across. Now it is time to plant out our seedlings. When they are about three to four inches high,
01:28sweet peas are perfectly fine to plant out into the ground. Very gently take these out of their pot.
01:35I'm just going to tease these plants out really carefully. Each one of these vines can create huge
01:41plants and I'm going to plant a maximum of two around each one of these canes. I've got my little
01:49trusty dibber here to create a little hole.
01:54And then we pop them in.
01:57Good luck with creating your own sweet pea teepee.
