00:09Premier Shahbaz Sharif, urging them to normalise ties.
00:1461 from India, 56 from Pakistan.
00:17Indian city trees include Faruk Abdullah, Mehbooban Mufti, Manish Shankar Ayer and former RANW chief A.S. Talat.
00:24Pro-Pakistan voices seek talks with Pakistan. 117 Indians and Pakistans are backing normal ties.
00:33Pakistan backs terror, but they bat for peace here.
00:37Faruk Abdullah, Mehbooban Mufti, RGD's Manoj Shah are the signatories.
00:41Ex-Mamita aid, Umayyad Kabir, among those who signed this letter, letter seeks diplomatic talks with Pakistan.
00:49Letter seeks end to hostilities with Pakistan.
00:54We have information of 117 people who have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking to normalise ties with Pakistan,
01:03work on improving diplomatic ties.
01:05Well, this list has Manish Shankar Ayer, leader of the Congress Party, among others, Mehbooban Mufti and Dr. Faruk Abdullah.
01:14Also RGD's Manoj Shah and Humayun Kabir, who is a former aide of Mamata Bandhapathen.
01:21In fact, we have details of 56 of these people being from Pakistan and the rest, 61 from India.
01:31Indian signatories in Tut Faruk Abdullah, Mehbooban Mufti, Manish Shankar Ayer and former RANW chief A.S. Talat.
01:40Remember, there have been growing concerns about the fact that India has, remember, suspended the Indus Water Treaty, which is
01:50leading to water scarcity in Pakistan.
01:52Several statements have also been made and indications that the people of Pakistan are suffering.
01:58Relationship between both countries have nose-dived after the horrific Pahelgaam terror attack in the month of April last year.
02:06India suspended the Indus Water Treaty and even before that, relations between both the countries have nose-dived.
02:13We must improve ties with Pakistan is the kind of request that has been made by some people from Pakistan
02:23as well as voices from India.
02:26India. Gaurav getting in more details on that story and putting that into perspective.
02:31Gaurav, history is witness to the fact that each time India has tried to, you know, improve ties with Pakistan.
02:38We've only been backstabbed. Yet we have these voices from India and Pakistan seeking talks and diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
02:48You know, Sneha, you're absolutely right.
02:51This letter is so shocking that it is surprising that any Indian can write such a letter or be a
02:59signatory to such a letter which shamelessly pimps Pakistan's agenda.
03:04This is such a shocking letter. There is not one word about crackdown on Pakistan's state-sponsored radical Islamist terror
03:13that has been pleading India for decades.
03:17Not one word. It's, you know, demilitarized area, go for 2007 agenda.
03:23All of this is Pakistan's agenda. This is exactly what Pakistan wants.
03:30And so many people in India, including those who've been very high up in the government, including heading, you know,
03:37top organizations and security organizations,
03:40they are the ones who are a signatory to this.
03:43It just reflects why Pakistan was able to bleed India for decades from the 1993 Mumbai Serial Blast through 2611,
03:54through Pehelgaam, through Pulbama,
03:55and why an Operation Sindur was so essential and why Pakistan is today feeling the pain of India's actions,
04:04including on the Indus Waters Treaty being held in abeyance.
04:08This letter, if you go through this letter, talks about restoration of people-to-people ties.
04:14It talks about so many things which, in a way, in the long run, will be good in a terror
04:21-free environment.
04:23Take, for example, when they talk about comprehensive bilateral dialogue on all outstanding issues,
04:30resume discussion on JNK, including revisiting the framework that was negotiated between 2004 and 2007.
04:36Do keep in mind, Sneha, between 2004 and 2007, when Pakistan claimed there was peace,
04:41there was preparation that was going on for 2611 Mumbai Terror Attacks of 2008,
04:46in which 166 people were mass-recorded in Mumbai.
04:50Remember, in 2006, during the so-called period of peace,
04:54we had 200 people who were killed in Mumbai during train serial blast.
04:58When they talk about demilitarization and de-escalation and creating peace in the region,
05:04they want demilitarization in Siyachin, because India is on top of that situation
05:09and is sitting on the salt-o-ro, which is right, where Pakistan can never come.
05:14And after 2020, Galwan, there is no way can you afford demilitarization.
05:18And yet you have people in India.
05:20You know, it just reminds you of the situation.
05:26That's right, Gaurav, you know, no amount of condemnation is going to really be enough
05:33as far as this appeal is concerned.
05:35I mean, why would we want to restore diplomatic ties, as is being said in this letter,
05:40reinstating high commissioners, resuming visa services,
05:43reopening trade and travel ties,
05:45as if nothing has happened in the past few months,
05:48including the horrific Pehlgaam terror attack
05:51and many other attacks, you know, with Pakistan really sponsoring
05:55and fomenting trouble in our country.
05:58Be with us, Gaurav.
05:59I'm also bringing in Sunil Ji Bhatt from Jammu and Kashmir, two leaders.
06:03And actually, I'm not even surprised.
06:05It's Mehbooba Mufti and Dr. Farooq Abdullah asking for restoration of ties.
06:10And as we speak, we're putting out these pictures of the horrific attack,
06:14you know, Sunil, in Pehlgaam.
06:20Absolutely, Sneha.
06:22We have accessed the list of the people who have, you know,
06:25written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi
06:27as well as to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
06:30117 people have written this letter.
06:33There are 117 secretaries and among them, 61 are from India.
06:37The names that are there in this list
06:41are of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, National Conference President
06:44and former Chief Minister and PDP Chief
06:47and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir,
06:49Mehbooba Mufti, Separatist Leader Mirwai Zumar Farooq
06:52and Senior Congress Leader and former Union Minister Saifuddin Sos.
06:57So, these leaders have demanded that there should be
07:00a resumption of, you know, ties between the two countries.
07:03Ties should be normalized.
07:04But clearly, as Gaurav was also saying that in the recent past,
07:09we have seen that how Pakistan continues to foment trouble
07:12in Jammu and Kashmir.
07:13Pakistan continues to sponsor terrorism against India
07:16and to, you know, demand these things at this time
07:20is quite, you know, surprising by these responsible leaders.
07:23But these are usual suspects
07:24because this list also includes Manish Shankar Iyer,
07:28A.S. Dhulat, who is the former Raw Chief.
07:29And in the past also, they have been demanding dialogue with Pakistan
07:33and now they have reiterated their demands through this letter.
07:36They have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi
07:38as well as to Pakistani Premier Shahbaz Sharif.
07:41But there is another important aspect to it
07:44because in the recent past,
07:45many RSS leaders have also batted for, you know,
07:48having normal ties with Pakistan.
07:50Does it have to do something with that?
07:52That remains to be seen.
07:52But for now, the list that we have accessed,
07:55it has 117 names.
07:56And these names are, you know,
07:58some prominent politicians from both India and Pakistan.
08:01This includes Faruk Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti,
08:03separatist leader, Mirwai, Zumar Faruk and others.
08:06So, clearly, you know, at a time
08:08when India is trying to, you know,
08:11galvanize international opinion against Pakistan,
08:14at that same time,
08:15these leaders are demanding dialogue with Pakistan,
08:18resumption of visa services
08:19and reinstating of high commissioners in both the capitals.
08:23So, it remains to be seen that
08:25how come these leaders have suddenly demanded dialogue with Pakistan
08:29because there have been, you know,
08:31in the recent past also talk of track 2 diplomacy.
08:33However, government denied that.
08:35But has this to do with that?
08:37That remains to be seen.
08:38But for now, you know,
08:40the list that we have accessed clearly shows
08:42that these leaders have demanded dialogue with Pakistan,
08:46resumption of visa services,
08:47reinstatement of high commissioners in both the capitals.
08:51So, questions are being raised
08:52that why this kind of demand is being made
08:54when Pakistan continues to sponsor terrorism against India.
08:57You know, in Pahalgaon, what happened?
08:59Hindu tourists were assassinated.
09:02They were killed on the basis of religion.
09:05So, questions are being raised
09:06that why these leaders have demanded talks with Pakistan.
09:09And they have also demanded
09:10that there should be a dialogue on Jammu and Kashmir.
09:12So, it's quite surprising
09:13that at a time when India is trying to galvanize
09:16international opinion against Pakistan,
09:18these leaders are demanding talks with Pakistan
09:20and normalization of relations with Pakistan.
09:23Delivering justice for those behind the attack in Pahalgaon
09:26and many such other terror attacks of this nature.
09:29There are various то,
