The sacrifice of all US Troops is remembered during a ceremony on Wilson Square during the 65th Anniversary of the Liberation of Brest. On this spot, 65 years ago, Colonel Erich Pietzonka (2nd Paratroop Division) surrendered the ruined city to General Walter M. Robertson (2nd Infantry Division).
