00:00Let me start with a couple questions.
00:03India is one of the fastest growing major economies in the world with a population of roughly 1.5 billion
00:09people.
00:10How do you think about India's trajectory today and what does it mean for the U.S.-India reliance through the
00:17administration and well beyond the Trump administration?
00:20Well, first I want to thank Jeff and Salil and all of our other sponsors that stepped in and helped
00:28make that celebration possible.
00:30And so I know some of you are in a room, IBM, Micron, Google, you care about this relationship and
00:36we appreciate it, you stepping in and helping us.
00:39You know, when I first called Jeff, I am a competitive person.
00:43I first called Jeff and I said, you've got to help us with our sponsorship.
00:47And he said, well, we have an amount that we're giving to five or six select embassies around the world.
00:52I said, that's great, but we've got to have more than that.
00:54I said, I don't care if it's a dollar more, but I've got to have more than London.
00:58I've got to have more than the other embassies.
01:01And so to his credit, he delivered.
01:03So thank you for that.
01:05You care about this relationship.
01:07We care about Boeing, frankly.
01:08As you know that the president in every meeting, and this has nothing to do, by the way, with our
01:13donation,
01:14but in every meeting for the last two years, and I've been in a lot of them at the White
01:18House when foreign leaders show up and meet with the president,
01:22Boeing is usually on the agenda because we care about Boeing.
01:25We care about taking you to the next level and making sure that these countries are buying the best and
01:32the most efficient planes in the sky.
01:35And so I can tell you, we've not spoken in a week, but it again came up with the prime
01:39minister
01:40because we're this close to getting another big deal done with India,
01:44and we're looking forward to bringing that across the finish line.
01:47Look, to answer your question, it's the limitless potential.
01:50So the United States wants to work hand-in-hand with India.
01:57India's rise is here.
01:59India has arrived.
02:01We recognize that.
02:03We want to partner with India.
02:05I was with a minister in New Delhi a couple weeks ago, and he said to me, he said,
02:10no matter what you hear in the news, 50 years from now, our two countries will still be friends.
02:16You're the world's oldest democracy.
02:19You're the world's largest democracy.
02:24And the second part that he added to that is we have the same principles when it comes to democracy,
02:29which include robust oppositions, by the way.
02:32Not every nation has that.
02:35India's in a tough part of the world.
02:37There are some tough and rough neighbors, and you have individuals that wake up in a bad mood,
02:42and things change in that part of the world.
02:44The United States and India have so much in common that that is something that will sustain us for decades
02:52to come.
02:52With that said, we do see the opportunity that exists between our two nations.
02:56And as I mentioned, you pick the sector, AI, technology, aviation.
03:01No matter what it is, we have a potential to work together.
03:05And that's something I hope to build upon and set the stage for the next few decades.
03:10These next two years will set the relationship on a path for several decades ahead.
03:14And so for everyone here who participates in this, think of this as a long-term project.
03:20This is not a one-year or two-year, but what we sow now will continue to sustain us decades
03:25ahead.
03:27This is not a one-year or two-year or two-year or two-year or two-year or two
03:28-year or two-year or two-year or two-year or two-year or two-year or two-year or
