00:06And here we are, this is my childhood bedroom.
00:09I'll probably be here for at least a few more months
00:12before we can save enough money to move into our own place.
00:15And in the meantime, we were thinking I could help out
00:18and together we could renovate this room
00:21from being what it is right now
00:23to kind of a functional workspace.
00:25I have a very particular aesthetic that I enjoy.
00:30And so sauce is going to help me build it.

00:38Hello, welcome to the room tour.
00:41I'm afraid it's kind of a mess in here.
00:43Here we have some chairs.
00:45I don't know where they're from.
00:46I think my parents must've used them for something.
00:48And now they found a home here.
00:50I'm going to have to find a new home now.
00:51Some boxes of old things.
00:54We've got some old posters.
00:56And then we have this horrific mess here.
01:00It's a little bit leftover from the decluttering.
01:03And here is the main wall that we want to fix.

01:09It's just peeled off.
01:11And then we have some dead spider parts.
01:13Oh, that's great.
01:15This really adds some flavor to the room.

01:19OK, so the very first step before we can do anything
01:22is we need to fix the wall.
01:23We get these little plastic razor blades that we can use
01:26to scrape off pieces of paint.
01:28So we can then use them to color match.
01:30And hopefully we'll be able to paint over all the little defects
01:33and just be able to patch it without having to paint the entire wall.
01:37We were able to get these tiny little pieces off the wall.
01:41We didn't want to go further and rip the whole wall apart.
01:43So we're hoping that these tiny pieces are good enough.
01:47We can paint match them and they don't, you know, they're not mean to us.
01:51We'll see how it goes.

04:26All right, it's the next morning and the wall is dry.
04:31And unfortunately, I don't think it worked out too well.
04:34If you could see, it kind of just looks like there's a bunch of oil stains on the wall.
04:39It does not look like an intended texture.
04:42So I think this means that we're going to have to completely repaint the entire wall.
05:09The wall is finally finished.
05:10It looks so much better.
05:12All the oil splotches are gone.
05:14It's one consistent texture now and it looks brand new.
05:18We're going to just clean up a little bit and we can finally start decorating.
