00:15after, and like crying to himself, and like that, I did that when I saw Weekend, the Andrew Hay film,
00:21when I was 19 or 20, I like walked from Washington Square Park to the Upper West Side, like devastated,
00:27and that was like a really light
00:30life-changing experience for me, so to see like a young queer kid have an experience to my movie like
00:36that was really touching.
00:39Yeah, I mean, I think, you know, I think the, the beauty of this movie is that we really made
00:45it like how we wanted to make it, like, you know, very small, like, you know, group of people really
00:51making the film, you know, not just in the production, but also in the post-production phase.
00:54We didn't test screen the movie, so to have the reception that we did at Cannes when we premiered the
01:00film was just, you know, it's so validating when people respond the way they do, you know, because you just
01:06don't know what to expect, obviously, and it's, and I feel like there's such, there's such a trick there to
01:14actually, I believe that, you know, making films is, really should be that way, and sort of like broadly going
01:21out to people and trying to appease everybody isn't always the best course of action.
01:24to making the best movie, and, and, and we really just trusted Jordan the entire way in making the movie,
01:30and obviously those instincts were correct, and, and I think the more specific that he was in the making of
01:35the film, the more it touched people, and the more broadly it's going to appeal to people, so, um, I
01:40think that, just the reception of the film, it was, it was really just finally opening the box, you know,
01:46like.
01:46because we had no idea, like, people could have not gotten the humor, or not gotten the emotion, like.
01:51and the expectation was, it could be a huge, it could be what it was, it could be in the
01:55middle, it could be, you know, less than, you know, we, we really had no expectations, just, we were just
02:01excited to show the movie, so.
