00:20Is it Freedom 250 or is it Trump 250?
00:22It's hard to tell.
00:23So what do you think about that really, please?
00:25I think it has nothing to do with, you know, we're all patriots.
00:30We all love our country, but Trump somehow thinks that he's the country.
00:34He's not the country.
00:36If we oppose Trump, he says we're anti-American.
00:41We're not anti-American.
00:42We're pro-American.
00:49And I'm just questioning this administration.
00:52What freedom are you talking about?
00:53Freedom of your white supremacists to go in the streets and start attacking our people?
00:57That's not freedom. That's racism.
00:59And so I don't know on what basis they think that freedom is going to be instilled here in this
01:04nation.
01:05But when I look around right here, I feel like this is the freedom that we need.
01:08This diverse coalition is exactly the freedom that we're looking for.
01:17Given the color of my skin, people fought and some people died to have voting rights.
01:26And now they're trying to roll back the clock so that only certain people can vote.
01:37I think a good way to celebrate the 250th is to really think about what your ideals and values are
01:44and how you can implement those in your communities.
01:47Whether it's, you know, your very local community or, like, at the statewide level
01:52or if you feel like you want to get involved nationally.
01:55I think picking something that you really care about and doing one small thing for it
02:00is a great way to celebrate the 250th anniversary.
02:10I wish we had a progressive government, but let's just say if we had any government that wasn't fascist,
02:14this could have been such a moment of celebration.
02:18And I see this event as really responding to that by saying we don't care about them.
02:24We're not going to let them steal the narrative.
02:27We're not going to let them steal what this means to so many of us.
02:35At different times over the past 250 years different people have been persecuted,
02:40have been prosecuted, have been killed, have been murdered, have been pushed to the sidelines
02:45and we have constantly fought.
02:46If there's one story over the past 250 years that we can say underlines it all
02:51is the constant eruption of movements of people who are showing up for each other
02:58and for people who are not impacted showing up as allies to say that that idea that we had,
03:05we the people, was actually meant, it should have meant all the people.
03:15It's not just genocide, land theft, enslavement, Jim Crow internment of Japanese.
03:22Go again.
03:27Please.
