Eleven people were killed in a plane crash in the town of Tomblaine in northeastern France on Sunday (June 28), the local prefecture said.

00:01Eleven people were killed when a small plane crashed in the northeastern French town of
00:06Tamblane on Sunday.
00:08Authorities said the aircraft, which belonged to a parachuting school, went down at about
00:1211 a.m. near the town's airfield.
00:15All 11 people on board, including the pilot, five student skydivers and five instructors,
00:21were killed in the crash.
00:23The prefect of the Meurthe et Moselle region, Yves Segui, said the plane appeared to have
00:28suffered damage before plunging almost vertically to the ground.
00:32The aircraft crashed in a built-up area near a shopping center, but no one on the ground
00:37was injured.
00:38Emergency services were immediately deployed to the scene, while investigators began collecting
00:43witness statements to determine the cause of the accident.
