00:09We did the hop-on-hop-off bus tour in Budapest over two days, including the river cruise,
00:15and it was a great way to see the city and get to know where the main landmarks are.
00:20The route covered all the key areas, which made it easy to explore different parts of
00:26the city without worrying about transport. The buses were comfortable, and the audio
00:31commentary was informative, giving interesting background on Budapest's history and architecture.
00:38The cooler weather meant the bus roofs were often closed, but that wasn't really a problem,
00:44just something to keep in mind if you're hoping for open-top views.
00:48The roof levels were very low, so we had to duck when walking upstairs, and a few people
00:54bumped their heads, which made for a memorable experience.
00:58One thing we didn't realize until we asked was that we could use buses from either of
01:03the main companies—this wasn't clearly advertised, but it turned out to be very convenient once
01:09we knew. Overall, it was an enjoyable and practical way to see Budapest, especially for first-time
01:16visitors wanting to get their bearings and cover a lot of ground in a short time.
01:22The last hop-on-hop-off we did was in Milan. That one started to turn me off these trips
01:28because
01:29it was mostly just music with a bit of commentary. It would cost virtually nothing more to talk about
01:35other things rather than just of music. This tour had lots of commentary. It was a good way to see
01:42the city. We also went on the boat tour. It was a nice way to see what is around. It
01:49was weird that
01:50there was a competing company according to the literature but our ticket let us get on any of
01:55the double-deckers. This was a fabulous option and I'm so glad L booked, got the 72-hour ticket as
02:03L
02:03was there four nights and it was great value. Included a free boat cruise during the day which was a
02:09welcome rest from walking for a short time. Budapest is stunning and this ho-ho let you cover all the
02:16main attractions, as with most cities now the traffic is busy but overall the buses were plentiful and
02:22regular. The info provided via the headphones was great and the staff were always helpful and friendly
02:28with any questions. Loved experiencing the market and buying what was needed for our meal. The small
02:36apartment we cooked in was nice. Our guide was knowledgeable and full of information about the
02:42area. Lots of wine from white to rose to red was drank. We didn't actually do any cooking. Our group
02:50was too large. We each cut a few things. Our meal was delicious. We bought a three-day ticket which
02:59gave
02:59us access to the red and green ho-ho buses which toured different parts of the city so we could
03:05see all of
03:06Budapest. The commentary was clear and in sync with the sights. The boat trip on the Danube was good but
03:13there was no commentary which was a shame. You do not have to redeem the voucher at a certain place
03:19like it said on my voucher, we did it on the bus and we were given our two-day ticket
03:24there and then.
03:26We were so pleased we got a two-day ticket, it was handy to be able to jump off and
03:31on when you want to.
03:33A great way to get a feel for the city and sights. I should have purchased a ticket good for
03:39more
03:39than one day, it's not that much more expensive than a 24-hour pass. Can get crowded. Go for the
03:47upper deck if the weather is good. The buses were around very regularly and the staff on the buses were
03:54very friendly and helpful, lots of staff around Budapest selling the hip and off bus and their
04:00knowledge is amazing. We took a boat cruise and the 48-hour hop-on, hop-off tour, which was highly
04:08recommended in Budapest. To explore Budapest, we stopped frequently. Fantastic experience.
