ಅಡ್ಡ ಮತದಾನ ಪ್ರಕರಣವು ಪಕ್ಷದ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್‌ಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ದಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಮರುಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಲು ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಿ.ವೈ. ವಿಜಯೇಂದ್ರ ಪಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗುಂಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಫಲರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವೈಫಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅಶೋಕ್‌ ವಿಫಲರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಗದ ಶಾಸಕರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಮರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಧ್ವನಿಯೆತ್ತುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಪಕ್ಷದ ಶಾಸಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಿಡಿತ ಹೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಯಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ.

The cross-voting controversy has reportedly pushed the party high command to reassess the effectiveness of the Karnataka state leadership. Some leaders have alleged that B.Y. Vijayendra has failed to unite different factions and effectively lead the party.A section of MLAs also believes that Opposition Leader R. Ashoka has not been able to strongly highlight the government's failures in the Assembly. Dissatisfaction among senior leaders and party workers is growing over the perception that the opposition is not raising its voice effectively against the government and that there is a lack of control over party legislators.
