00:01Space Jam is no doubt the most iconic Looney Tunes movie, but it's a great time we admit
00:06that it's distracting everyone from objectively the better film in the franchise.
00:112003's Looney Tunes Back in Action
00:13Hey everyone, Ewan a noted back in action defender for World Culture here and it's
00:18time to have a quick chat about why that film is so good and why it's annoyingly kind of been
00:23forgotten.
00:23Directed by the man behind Gremlins, Joe Dante, Back in Action brought together the likes of
00:28Brendan Fraser, Steve Martin, Timothy Dalton and Joan Cusack for a story that poked fun at Warner
00:34Brothers and the espionage genre. It's filled with killer jokes, lots of great, actual Looney
00:39Tunes humor and also has Steve Martin giving maybe the best performance of all time as the Acme chairman.
00:44And yet it can't compete with the commercially tuned behemoth that is Space Jam, which has
00:48Night East nostalgia clown that'll keep it chugging forever. Back in Action also underperformed at the
00:53box office and got mixed reviews too, which is probably why people keep sleeping on it.
