00:10Hi, I'm Seb Piquet from Le Tour de France, and it's a delight to be here in Hannover
00:14at the heart of Continental's tyre test lab with Hanna, Product Manager for Road Tyres.
00:19Hi Seb, great to have you here.
00:21A pleasure to be here.
00:22The Tour de France is going to start in Barcelona with a team time trial.
00:26We have 21 stages, 3,333 km of racing in different conditions, 8 mountain stages, twice L'Alpe d'Huez.
00:37Hanna, do the teams ask Continental for different tyres based on the different stages?
00:44Yes, well, not exactly for different stages, but based on the conditions.
00:49Our teams have four different tyre options that they can choose from, and these are the four tyre models that
00:54you see here.
00:55So, we'll start right where you stand.
00:58That's the Aero 111, our most aerodynamic tyre, followed by the Grand Prix 5000 STR.
01:04That's pretty much our performance all-rounder, a tyre that you see in really a lot of the races.
01:09Then, here we have the Grand Prix 5000 TTTR.
01:12As the name suggests, TT stands for time trial, but also for very fast racing.
01:17And then, lastly, we have the Grand Prix 5000 ASTR, and that's the tyre really made for super bad conditions,
01:25for wet weather, all-season type of riding.
01:28That's the one that will eventually be used if it rains, because we will have different conditions on the Tour
01:36de France during the month of July, during three weeks of racing.
01:39We have those riders going down the 30s and the ups at over 100 km an hour.
01:45Continental safety is essential.
01:47Yes, safety is one of our main concerns when we develop tyres.
01:51So, all of our race tyres use our Black Chilli compound, and that is made really for these extreme conditions.
01:57So, bad weather riding, wet weather riding, but also very fast riding.
02:01Yeah, so Black Chilli compound is one of the main features, and then also what we see that our teams
02:07will do is either lower the tyre pressure,
02:10or switch to tyre models that offer more puncture protection if the conditions get really grim, so tyres like the
02:17ASTR or the STR.
02:19Technology serving performance with always in mind the safety of the riders.
02:23See you on the Tour de France.
02:25Stay safe, everyone.
02:31Stay safe, everyone.
02:31It's nice to meet you.
02:31See you in theастs.
02:32So again, catch...
02:33f-t-f-t-f-t-f- tweelting Mhinker들.
02:34I want to get a place for these types of kilometres.
02:34In the future, when in ours, whenever we do that, I want to be fun or something.
02:35I would choose to rest.
