00:01Polish President Karol Nowrowski is stripping his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky
00:06of the Order of the Eagle, Poland's highest state honor, in a deepening row over World War II
00:11massacres. Zelensky, for his part, shared photos on Saturday of the order being packaged for
00:17shipment from an ordinary post office, addressed to the Polish presidential chancellery.
00:22In a post on social media, he remarked that he believed that the Order of the White Eagle,
00:27awarded in 2023, was meant for the Ukrainian people and army.
00:32Nowrowski made the decision in response to Ukraine naming a military unit after the
00:37controversial World War II Ukrainian insurgent army that took part in massacres against Poles.
00:43In a statement revoking the award given by his predecessor, Nowrowski said that the move
00:48is not directed against Ukrainian people and that Poland would continue to support Ukraine.
