00:26This
00:27pimento is a small token of our gratitude for Ramoji's family, enduring commitment
00:34to media, academia, public service and culture, which continues to inspire generations.
00:44Thank you, Shri Prasad Garud.
00:46Welcome to all of you on behalf of the Ramoji family, and also if ISB is kind enough, as the
00:57future alumni of ISB.
01:02One day I shall be here is one dream, let us hope so.
01:10Thank you very much for joining us, Consul General, and it's a privilege to have Rajat Gupta Ji
01:18in our, his August presence in our midst, and J.B.
01:22Prasad Garud has been a very good friend of the family.
01:26And thank you very much, all distinguished guests.
01:30And the youngsters, I feel jealous of you.
01:33I wish I was about 30 years younger.
01:37And I had probably not chosen to, you know, graduate somewhere else.
01:46But anyway, I'll get going here.
01:51So, father was an agnostic management thinker.
01:55He never believed in formal education.
01:58The one thing he used to tell us is that go to any institution in the world, we will send
02:04you there.
02:05But then come back, unlearn whatever you've learned there, and then start learning again
02:11in my university, the Ramoji University, and which is what we exactly did.
02:19But he never stood in our way of going abroad or, you know, studying abroad, neither us or
02:27his grandchildren or, but a very avid reader of Dale Carnegie and Drucker, right in the
02:41way back in the 1958, 1959, very avid reader.
02:45And to the last day, he was a practitioner of management principles, though he never believed
02:53in formal management education.
02:57I think the relationship began with Thomas Schmidhaini Center here and Professor Kavil.
03:06Until the relationship began with ISB, and then hopefully it will continue to grow and flourish.
03:14Thank you once again for being here, all of you distinguished guests, and let's look forward
03:23to a very enjoyable evening.
