00:03They are the champions of the New York Knicks!
00:30Let's see how New Yorkers celebrate an achievement like this.
00:35A city that never sleeps.
00:37We're getting close to Times Square and I'm heading towards the subway.
00:42The New York subway is crazy, with so many different lines to choose from.
00:45Let's see how I'm going to find myself.
00:50It's not that hard to figure out which subway to take, is it?
00:56I'm going to follow these guys here.
00:58Wherever they're going, I'll follow.
01:05Oh, the bus is packed here.
01:07Look at these guys here wearing Knicks gear.
01:10Very reminiscent of the train and subway systems in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
01:15Nothing too different here.
01:16We've arrived, we've arrived.
01:19Wall Street Station.
01:24The information is that some people slept on the street to watch the parade.
01:30Let's see what we find.
01:31The station is packed, oh.
01:32There are a bunch of people behind me, look.
01:36Characterized.
01:37The guys here are wearing New York Knicks gear.
01:39So I'm walking a little faster here to see if we can get into a good spot.
01:45It's 9 o'clock in the morning.
01:46The event starts at 10.
01:50Leaving the station here.
01:52Wow, what a crowd!
02:02Then, the street was taken over, man.
02:05That's cool.
02:11I'm going to walk around a bit here in the middle of the crowd so you can get a feel for the atmosphere.
02:14Just look.
02:17I don't even really know where I am, man.
02:19There's a chapel back there, look.
02:24Botadão.
02:26Trying to get closer to the guys over there, by the fence, right?
02:29Gargling crowd.
02:31I haven't found it yet.
02:36The police.
02:38Security plan...
02:41That's pretty well reinforced here too, right?
02:44Look at those kids over there.
02:46The new generation comes with man.
02:57I'm going to ask the kid to take a picture for me here, an aerial picture for me.
03:01Can you film it for me?
03:02Yes.
03:09Thanks.
03:12He asked the kid to film it for me.
03:14Do you know if it turned out well?
03:15Man, I can't go any further than this.
03:18It's packed.
03:22With more than people.
03:24You can't even see where it ends, look.
03:37Toilet paper is starting to fly everywhere around here.
03:55My therapist told me that day would come.
03:59Okay.
04:00This is the first time in 53 years.
04:04So, people are, like, hyped, you know?
04:05They are happy.
04:07After 53 years, they are champions again.
04:10I asked him here if he remembers the last time Nick won the title.
04:13He said he remembers seeing it on the news when he was 10 years old, and that's why people are so happy.
04:17Oh, folks, it's started.
04:19But from where we are, we can only see it on television.
04:21I'll try to zoom in on the image here.
04:25Hey guys, check it out.
04:26Everyone's watching it on television.
04:31The police officer just arrived.
04:32Oh, to kick out the group that was on top of the police car.
04:35And he got a huge booing from the crowd here, look.
04:39I'll look for another position here.
04:41I'm going to take it a little easier to see if I can get more interviews.
04:44Oh, now that I see.
04:44Where am I?
04:45In front of the Trump Building.
04:47The building of none other than the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
04:55Morris came here with his children.
04:58How are you?
04:5910.
05:0010 years.
05:02How are you?
05:03He's boring, he's hypnotized.
05:06He's hypnotized.
05:08What does this mean to you?
05:10I mean, I've been waiting for this moment my whole life.
05:12My son told me, "You said this is the only time in my life that this could happen."
05:16We have to be here, no matter what.
05:17But we woke up in the cold sun.
05:19We became what we are here.
05:20Look at this crowd, it's incredible.
05:21This city is electric.
05:22I love it.
05:23I'm very happy to be here.
05:24He's saying he never imagined in his life that he could see this.
05:27And that's what the son said, right?
05:28This could be the father.
05:29This might be the only time we see Nick become champion.
05:32So we have to go there.
05:32That's why they woke up early.
05:34They came all the way here.
05:35They are in the middle of the crowd.
05:36And the World Cup.
05:37You don't want much to say about the World Cup.
05:39You have to confess to me.
05:40No, soccer is not our main focus.
05:42I'll probably watch the final games.
05:44But we are a city in New York.
05:46Let's go.
05:46I mean, we're a basketball city.
05:48Thank you very much.
05:49He said that...
05:49He confessed to me that he's not that interested in the World Cup.
05:52MVP!
05:54MVP!
05:55MVP!
05:56MVP chants for the team's star player.
05:59MVP!
06:00MVP!
06:02Look, there it is, passing by.
06:03This is the only way we can see it from here on the little television.
06:09I'm going to buy a shirt here to fit in with the group.
06:16You thought it only happened in Brazil, huh?
06:18The stall is already set up here.
06:20Which lady is watching me?
06:22Give me a call, baby.
06:23What's your name, man?
06:24David Neal.
06:25David!
06:26I am Fernando Davis.
06:28Fernando Davis.
06:29I love meeting this guy.
06:31Nice to meet you, mate.
06:32Nice to meet you, mate.
06:32Are you making a lot of money?
06:34Man, I'm making a lot of money.
06:36Very?
06:36Very!
06:37He's saying he's making very little money.
06:39He's hiding his true intentions.
06:40As?
06:40How much is that?
06:41How much is that?
06:4320 dollars.
06:4420 dollars.
06:45Can you show it to me?
06:47Yes sir.
06:49He's going to show his shirt.
06:52Who are these guys?
06:54Michael Bridges.
06:55They are the champions of New York.
06:58NYX.
06:59He's saying the shirt has the players' names on it.
07:02That's it, folks.
07:02The party here is now coming to an end.
07:04It wasn't possible to see the players up close.
07:07But at least, look, he's leaving with a NYX championship shirt.
07:09I really liked the vibe here with the people.
07:11A different kind of party here in New York.
07:13Now let's get back to our World Cup coverage.

07:28NBA title.
07:29It will be?
07:29It's a good thing nobody understands Portuguese here.
07:32It cost!
07:33Bye, bye.
