Kyle Balda's "The Sheep Detectives" will hit theaters on May 8th, and the book to screen adaptation has a stellar cast helping to make the novel into a big screen adventure. That include live-action actors led by Hugh Jackman, as well as he A+ voice cast bringing the titular sheep to life. CinemaBlend had the chance to speak with them ahead of the movie's release, where they asked some hard hitting questions: could their pets solve their own murder?

"The Sheep Detectives'" trailer showed the CGI creatures that are on a mission to solve their shepherd's murder. They're led by Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Lily, and during our conversation the "Seinfeld" star addressed whether or not she would trust her dog to solve the mystery of her hypothetical murder.

00:00Would you trust your pet to solve your murder?
00:03Oh, my.
00:04Well, first of all, you should know that my dog's name is George.
00:09Oh.
00:10Yes.
00:11And I would not trust him to solve a murder, I'm afraid.
00:19Yeah, that's not going to work out for us.
00:21We have a cat who I think could commit one.
00:24Oh.
00:25Every morning, he is on us.
00:28And he's at my wife's, he is obsessed with her.
00:31So he's just kind of lying or standing on her chest, kind of slapping her awake.
00:37Is he hungry?
00:38Is that what it is?
00:39I think he just longs for her love.
00:41Oh.
00:42And.
00:43So you have that in common.
00:45That's right.
00:47I haven't gone so far as to getting on her chest.
00:51But we have, yeah, we have a lot of dogs and cats and tortoises.
00:55And I think if they could gang up together, they could kill a man.
01:01Or solve a murder.
01:03Yes.
01:03Potato, right?
01:04Potato is the name of one of your dogs?
01:05Oh, Potato, sadly, is no longer.
01:06Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that.
01:08But we had a great dog.
01:10Oh, what a powerful, beautiful dog.
01:12Now we have Meatloaf and Puffin.
01:14Who?
01:15Puffin.
01:15Oh, Puffin, yes.
01:16Yeah, it gets named by the other animals, the children.
01:22But we had a mystery recently where somebody came to the front door with a tortoise and said,
01:28your tortoise escaped.
01:30And I'm like, oh, yeah, maybe they buried under the garden.
01:32They do that.
01:32And so I took the tortoise and then my wife came home.
01:37I said, that's not our tortoise.
01:42And also, it's not even a tortoise.
01:44It's a terrapin.
01:46So we call the RSPCA like the, and then we live right off the river Thames.
01:51And we were like, we think it's come off the Thames.
01:53Should we put it back in the Thames?
01:55And they were like, no, that's illegal.
01:56So now we just have a terrapin in a pond out the back.
01:59Oh, my goodness.
02:00It's incredible.
02:00It's the plot of the sequel.
02:01Now we need to find its way home.
02:04You know, my dog is really sweet, but she's quiet.
02:11And I need her to bark more sometimes.
02:14I need her to make a noise.
02:16She's just, like, if she wants to play with the ball, she's obsessed with it.
02:21She's a drug addict for my ball, for a ball, any ball.
02:26And she just looks at it.
02:29Like, make a noise.
02:31Show me how.
02:32So if she had a clue or something, I think I just need her to, I need to teach her
02:36how
02:36to bark.
02:37She needs a ball-related clue to solve your murder.
02:39Yeah, exactly.
