00:59All in in what will prove to be his final home Champions League game in an Atletico shirt before he

01:17Antoine Griezmann, let's get into the starting 11s for both of these teams.
01:21And first for Atletico Madrid, it is four changes from the weekend in their victory over Athletic Club.

04:04This is the first time, though, these two teams will meet in a Champions League knockout round tie
04:09that they did meet in the Europa League semifinal back in 2018.
04:13Should be a fascinating contrast of styles, certainly in comparison to yesterday of 5-4.
04:19The expectation from around the world of football is that this will be a much different game.
04:24We'll see if that proves to be the case.
04:27As they're underway for the Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal kicking off this Champions League semifinal.
04:35And for Atleti needing to go a round further, having not finished in the top eight of the league phase,
04:41it'd be Club Brugge, Tottenham and Barcelona on their way here.
04:45As for Arsenal, it has been a fairly straightforward path as far as it goes in the Champions League.
04:52Beating Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting Club de Portugal in the last round
04:56by just the one goal to nil as a slip there from Incapié since Giuliano Simeone on his way.
05:03Riding that challenge and playing Curiezmann.
05:05Dummy down for Julian Alvarez who tries from the edge of the D.
05:08And the block in from Declan Rice.
05:10We see already a slip being part of the issue here for Arsenal.
05:15That was a problem for Tottenham.
05:18And that last 16 game in this building, that saw a couple of slips lead to goals.
05:23It's been a problem for the pitch all the way back since when the Miami Dolphins played
05:29the Washington Commanders in the NFL at the Berna Bay.
05:32But the Dolphins did train here for a few days.
05:34And ever since then, the pitch just hasn't quite been the same.
05:37As Incapié was hoping that David Raya would come to his aid in an awkward slice clearance.
05:41We'll go lift it out for a throw into Atletico.
05:44Yeah, hectic and sloppy here early in this one.
05:46You mentioned the grass.
05:47There was some discussion about Arsenal not being happy with the length of the grass.
05:50We saw some images earlier of them measuring the grass.
05:55Of course, no excuse for anyone.
05:57They've both got to play here.
05:58But a hectic start to this one so far is probably to be expected with both of these sides.
06:05This stadium is full of energy, as you might expect.
06:09Question is, who will come out and be the aggressors?
06:12These are two sides that currently in Arsenal's case are more about their solidity and their defense.
06:18It has historically been the case for Atletico, although less so, certainly in this Champions League,
06:23but also in the last few years under Diego Simeonez.

06:40Of course, we know what Luchman did against Barcelona and how important he was.
06:45So we've seen conversations already with Mikel Arteta and his staff.
06:50That man there, Julian Alvarez, he's been outstanding throughout this competition.
06:54Of course, a lot of discussion around his contract and where it all fits in right now.
06:58Now, Cholo Simeonez certainly would want him back here at the club, but a player of that stature,
07:03no surprise of how many teams would be looking at him.
07:06A little high press here from Atleti.
07:10And it's Rice who receives in the middle and plays with William Salima.
07:19Gabriel and Piero Incapierre, who hesitates on it and plays now with Gabriel.
07:26And that's an awkward pass that goes straight out for a throw-in.

08:36He never wanted to treat him like a son of his team, but he's proven to be a key piece.
08:40And tries to play in behind for Llorente, who wrestles there with Incapié.

08:46I said in the open, the relationship between Llorente and Simeone is going to be vitally important for Atleti.
08:51The work right down the right-hand side is unmatched, really, from any team in all of Europe, the way
08:57those two guys get after it.
08:59Llorente's been a bit of a Swiss Army knife for this side.

09:04We saw this as well in the early rounds of this competition.

14:44Which is now forcing Llorente to the middle if you see him right next to the referee here.
14:49And that's what Hincope is doing, making him occupy that space.

15:15Such a great outlet in these counterattacking moments for Atletico.

15:22I think he was looking for Luckman to make a run there and just spring him, but he misread that
15:30particular play.
15:35Atletico have thrown everything into the Champions League.
15:37They've lost four of their last five in La Liga.
15:40They lost the Copa del Rey final.
15:42Which is a real disappointment for them in Seville as Jokerez is the target.
15:47So now this is really the only thing they have left to play for.
15:50They're 25 points off the leaders Barcelona and Spain.
15:54They're comfortable in a Champions League position for next season.
15:57They want to win the Champions League for the first time in club history.
16:01It's the only thing that Diego Simeone feels he has left to do here.
16:06Yeah, he's been able to do with his rotation what Mikel Arteta has not been able to do.
16:11You mentioned being 25 points off the leaders.
16:14He's been able to rest players here as they get on the attack.
