00:00Guys, I got to play LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight early and if you're thinking of picking it
00:04up, wait.
00:05Do not pick it up until you've seen this video because I'm going to run through a game check of
00:08what I liked,
00:08what I didn't like, but also at the very end talk about deals and the best way that you guys
00:12can pre-order the game
00:13and get the most out of your money. Let's begin.
00:16Check. Story. The story does a great job of blending the mythology we love and know of Batman from the
00:20movies and the comics
00:21while adding that LEGO flair of comedy that fans can enjoy and people who aren't fans can still appreciate.
00:26Check. Gameplay. The gameplay reminds me a lot of the Arkham series.
00:30The punching, the countering, the dodging, timing your combos. It's very familiar and it's really fun and there's also lots
00:36of stealth too.
00:36So if you like sneaking up, rappelling up into the sky, hitting enemies with batarangs, it really feels like a
00:41LEGO version of the Arkham series.
00:43Check. Replayability. Lots of replayability here. Open world Gotham City. Missions, side quests, upgrades to collect.
00:49There's a skill tree so you can keep progressing your characters and their abilities.
00:52I'm going to be revisiting this game for many, many hours to come.
00:55Check. Co-op. This has full split screen co-op and it's very friendly to newcomers.
01:01This is girlfriend approved. My girlfriend does not play much games, but she had a ton of fun playing this
01:04with me.
01:05It's easy to pick up, easy to understand. It does drop the frame rate to 30 FPS, but still to
01:10be able to do that, couch co-op is really great,
01:13especially on a game that's open world.
01:14The one thing that gets an X for me is the graphics. The graphics are great because there's a performance
01:18and a graphics mode,
01:20but there isn't a PS5 Pro mode, and with so many games getting it, it would have been nice to
01:24see a version that mixes both the graphics and performance mode into 160 FPS mode.
01:29So if you're hoping for a PS5 Pro mode, so far, nothing yet, but fingers crossed that it'll come.
01:33Okay, let's talk about pre-ordering the game. $70 for the full game and $90 for the Deluxe Edition.
01:39The Deluxe Edition is going to allow you to play the game three days early on May 19th.
01:42You're going to get access to the story mode that lets you also play as Joker and Harley Quinn later
01:46in September, and some really cool skins.
01:48At the moment, GameStop has a poster pre-order bonus, so if you really want to get something additional for
01:53your money,
01:53that's going to be your best bet, and you can trade in your games to make it even cheaper.
01:56Are you guys going to be picking up LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight, or are you going to
02:00wait for a sale?
02:01Any other questions, let me know in the comments, and I'll be happy to answer them.
