A remarkable split has emerged between US Ambassador Mike Huckabee and President Donald Trump over the US-Israel relationship. Speaking at an Israeli heritage conference, Huckabee declared that America owes its very existence to Israel and the Jewish foundation rooted in the land. His comments come just days after Trump claimed that without him, Israel would not exist. The contrasting statements have ignited debate over history, diplomacy, and the future of US-Israel ties as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.

00:00U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, just stood up at a major heritage conference and made a claim that
00:06directly clashes with what President Trump himself has been saying.
00:10Let's start with what Huckabee actually said.
00:13Speaking at the International Conference on Israeli Heritage in Judea and Samaria, Huckabee declared,
00:20Without Israel, without the Jewish Foundation, there would not be America.
00:24He went even further.
00:26He said, quote, It is your heritage, without a doubt, but it is also the heritage of the United States.
00:32And then came the line that's now spreading fast.
00:35We owe our very existence to what happened in this land.
00:40Huckabee made clear that he sees it as his job to represent the importance of Israel to the United States,
00:46not the other way around.
00:47Now, here's where it gets interesting.
00:50Just days before this, President Trump made the exact opposite claim.
00:55During a bilateral meeting with Qatari Emir Tameem and Ban Hamad al-Fani, Trump said,
01:01Without me, there would be no Israel.
01:04Israel's fighting Hezbollah too long and too many people are being killed.
01:09And you don't have to knock down an apartment house every time you're looking for somebody.
01:13He added that no other president was willing to do what he did for Israel.
01:17So, pause for a second and look at what just happened.
01:21The president of the United States is saying Israel owes its existence to him.
01:26And his own ambassador to Israel is saying America owes its existence to Israel.
01:31That is not a small gap.
01:33That is two completely different narratives coming from two of the most influential figures shaping U.S.-Israel policy right now.
01:40And this is happening at a moment when the region is already on edge.
01:44Trump, in that same meeting, also brought up Lebanon.
01:48He said Israel has been fighting Lebanon for far too long.
01:51And in a surprising twist, he suggested that Syria should take care of the terrorist group instead of Israel doing
01:57it alone.
01:58So, now you have multiple threads tangled together.
02:02A president claiming personal credit for Israel's survival.
02:05An ambassador claiming Israel is the very foundation of America's survival.
02:09And a new suggestion to pull Syria into handling Lebanon.
02:13This is no longer just rhetoric.
02:16This is two competing versions of history being pushed by two officials who were supposed to be on the same
02:21page.
02:21And whichever version people choose to believe, one thing is clear.
02:26The story of who needs who more between Washington and Jerusalem is no longer a quiet diplomatic understanding.
02:33It is now playing out loudly, publicly, and very differently depending on who is holding the microphone.
