00:00Hey everyone, hey everyone, hey everyone, how's it going?
00:03So, the title that you see is, um, sadly, not clickbait, sadly, it's very real.
00:15This will be my last video, um, for who knows how long.
00:22And tonight, all the videos on my channel are, across all my social medias, are going to be privatised and,
00:33um, yeah, essentially unable to be viewed.
00:38Um, so, let me, obviously let me explain why I, uh, if you guys don't know, I've wanted to be
00:50a teacher for a while.
00:52And, uh, I've just completed my final year of university, finished my exams about three weeks ago.
01:02And, uh, today, Monday the 15th of June, I started my teacher training, um, as I'm becoming a teacher in
01:13September.
01:14And, uh, I always knew that I was going to stop doing the social media stuff for obvious reasons.
01:21I always knew I was going to stop, knew I was going to stop doing ASMR if I pursued a
01:26teaching career.
01:27Uh, but I had initially anticipated doing this for at least, at least a few more months, at least till
01:35late July, mid-August, before starting teaching in September.
01:41But it's become apparent to me that that is just not feasible.
01:47The teacher training has days where I am required to be in a school.
01:52Uh, and there is a lot of vetting, a lot of searching of your names and all that stuff by
01:58schools, by the, by the teachers, people.
02:00I don't want to say too much, but, um, but essentially I need to, I need to wipe my face
02:09off the internet as much as I can now, as early as possible.
02:13So, um, I had initially envisaged to do, like, a big stream in August, like a 24-hour departing stream,
02:23but that's just not possible.
02:25And to be honest, I just, I just, I need to just get it done.
02:29I need to just take everything off the internet.
02:33Um, yeah, I can't, I, do you know what, this is so crazy.
02:36I really, I really, really can't believe it, man.
02:41Six years, six years I've been doing this.
02:45When I think back to when I started, I started on, um, Twitch, streaming on Twitch back in lockdown.
02:51And it was, a lot of people ask me why I started doing this.
02:55Well, the, the only reason why was because I was bored in lockdown.
03:01I always watched Twitch, I always watched YouTube, I'd always watched ASMR, and I decided to just, to just give
03:08it a go, you know.
03:09And I'm so glad I did.
03:11I mean, what an amazing community we've built here on YouTube, across my English and Spanish channel, my gaming channel,
03:18my TikTok has grown an enormous following.
03:22My Twitch, especially at the start, was just amazing.
03:24I've met some great people by doing ASMR, by doing social media, and it's been something that I've really loved.
03:31I've really enjoyed, and actually, I lost a bit of passion for it, if I'm honest.
03:36But I've, I've got that passion back, and that's why this hurts so much.
03:40Because a couple of years ago, I wasn't enjoying it as much.
03:44You know, I, I wasn't enjoying being on social media, I actually wanted to delete it all.
03:50But then, uh, yeah, a couple years later, now, I should say, and over the last year, I've really enjoyed
03:57it.
03:59But, teaching is something I've always wanted to do, and, you know, teaching's the, the one career, well, not the
04:05only career, but one of the only careers, whereby, you know, you can't really, it's better not to have a,
04:11a, a public presence online, you know.
04:15Especially with the way that the world is at the minute, and how active young people are on social media,
04:21and I say this on a day in which the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has announced a social
04:26media ban for kids under the age of 16, which is a hot topic of debate.
04:32Um, but yeah, I don't know, man, this is crazy.
04:36You know, I was thinking, I was getting very, con, con, contemplative, contemplative, I never know how you say that
04:42word.
04:43But I was contemplating this decision a lot, and, I don't know, it just, it feels wrong, but it feels
04:50right.
04:50It feels wrong, everything is telling me it's wrong.
04:52You know, I've built this amazing community, this amazing following.
04:58But, I've had a passion to teach, um, and it's a proper job, you know, this is something that I
05:04enjoy as a hobby, but I'd never want to, I don't, I don't want to say never, but I don't
05:08think I'd want to do this as a job.
05:09I think it's too lonely, I think it's too self-absorbing, I think you, you, you know, I find myself
05:17sleeping at 5am, I'm not really complaining about that, but I just sort of wake up, and I'm like, what
05:21am I doing with myself, you know.
05:25Whereas, teaching, I feel like I'm changing people's lives, you know, I'm changing people's lives, I'll be very actively involved
05:35in, in hopefully, hopefully, you know, making people's lives better.
05:39But, yeah, I, uh, I can't quite believe I'm making this video.
05:45And, you know, this is serious, I mean, there is a chance, I don't want to say too much, there
05:50is a chance I come back if, if things go badly.
05:55But, you know, all, all things going well, going swimmingly, I'll be, this will be my last video for a
06:03while, if not ever.
06:05Um, if I do the teaching course, which I want to do, and it lasts two years, and then after
06:11the two years, you have the qualification, and who knows, maybe I'll go into some different profession,
06:16and can come back to doing this as a hobby.
06:18But for now, it seems like for at least two years, um, I'll be, I'll be off the face of
06:24the internet, which is, um, really, really quite scary and sad to think about.
06:31Well, I, uh, if you guys want to stay in contact with me, which is great if you do, you
06:39can email me, ferrara.smr.gmail.com, I'll leave a link in the description.
06:44I also have privatised my Instagram, so, if you follow me on Instagram already, you can follow me, Eddie, I
06:53called my account, hold on, let me flip it so you guys can see it, or else you can't see
06:58it.
06:58Um, here we go, Eddie, uh, EddiePrivate123, again, I'll leave a link in the description, so you can follow me
07:05there, and, uh, you can keep messaging me over the next couple years, if you want to see how I'm
07:10doing, chat to you guys as well, it would be great.
07:14Um, initially I was going to find a way to keep my videos, like, to get a link so that
07:19you guys could still access my videos, um, but I just don't think it's possible without, without, basically, kids at
07:28the school.
07:28finding it, so I, I, I just don't think that's feasible.
07:33Um, it's been great, man, it's really been great, the amount of hours, the amount of hours that I've spent
07:42doing this, it feels wrong to just throw it all away, but I don't think I am throwing it away,
07:46I think I'm making a conscious decision, which makes sense, and it's funny, because I started this when I was
07:5316, 17,
07:56and I was doing my, not even my A-levels, I was doing my penultimate school exams, my penultimate college
08:04exams, and my thinking was, I've got these exams at 17, I've got my big exams at 18, I'll take
08:11a gap year, then I'm doing a four-year degree,
08:14I was like, six years, and, and I always knew, I was like, okay, I might have to quit at
08:19that point, but I was like, that's six years away,
08:22and then it just suddenly got closer and closer, um, and now we're here, but yeah, I mean, if you
08:29guys, if there's any videos you like, specifically, then,
08:32just message me on that Instagram, or on my email, and I'll, I'll try and send you the links, so
08:37that you guys can still watch them, um,
08:39yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna privatise all the videos tonight, or tomorrow morning, so,
08:43if you can download them, or something, then maybe try, you know, I, I mean, I really appreciate your guys'
08:47support, the fact that so many of you have
08:49watched for so long, and actually still would want to download old videos, and re-watch them, because you enjoy
08:55them, that's just
08:56so amazing for me, but yeah, man, I think about it, I think just crazy, dude, you know, I, I
09:02made a Twitch channel,
09:03with the intention of just doing it as a hobby in COVID, and man, I ended up becoming a partner
09:11on Twitch, which was such a monumental
09:12moment for me, I ended up getting a hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube, I don't have the plaque with me,
09:19sadly, but it's at home, and what an amazing
09:21thing, no one can ever take that away from me, I, this channel's amassed tens of thousands of subscribers,
09:27my TikTok hit 200,000 subscribers, I, when I stream there, I get between 500 and 1,000 live concurrent
09:36viewers, which is just insane, man, I can't, honestly, I can't thank you guys enough, and when I say these
09:41things, it does feel like I'm throwing it away, the vlog channel, the vlog channel, I loved the vlog channel
09:45for a little bit, um, but I think this is the right choice, this is the right choice for my,
09:53for my life,
09:55because if I continue doing this, if I try to do this full-time, where do I see myself at,
09:5927, 28, you know,
10:00I'm 23 now, I've got to start thinking about the future, and not just next year, but in five years,
10:07in ten years, where am I, you know, so, yeah, I'm gonna end it there, guys, um, I don't know,
10:17do I have anything else to say, I didn't, I didn't write a script for this video, I just
10:22pressed our recording, first, first attempt, I thought I'd cry, actually, but I've not yet,
10:27but I'm sure I will, when I read your guys' comments, and when I get your guys' messages,
10:34yeah, I can't thank you guys enough, honestly, it's insane, I'm sorry, I'm also sorry, if you,
10:39if you feel, if you genuinely really enjoyed my stuff, and enjoyed watching it, and you feel
10:44like you're gonna miss out, I'm really sorry, but thank you for feeling that way, because
10:50that means the world, it means the world, because people often ask me, you know, my family and
10:55friends often ask me about, oh, Eddie doesn't feel weird, how many people watch you, like,
11:00you've got millions, oh, not millions, well, over the years, millions of people have watched
11:04you, and I kind of just think, no, because it's just a number on a screen, but then you
11:13sit back, and you think about that number on a screen, it's like this weekend, I was streaming
11:19on TikTok to 700 live viewers, I mean, imagine I was sat in a room with 700 people there, you
11:27know, that puts things into perspective, and that makes me think, like, wow, that's
11:30amazing, like, absolutely amazing, um, what else, I think that's it, if you want to know
11:41what I'll be teaching, actually, it's French and Spanish, I believe, I don't actually know
11:44yet exactly, but languages, so, who knows, maybe I'll, maybe I'll pop up on YouTube at
11:51some point with a, with a language teaching channel or something, I don't know, but, but,
11:56uh, yeah, thank you guys, thank you guys so much for everything, I, I, I honestly cannot,
12:01cannot thank you enough, um, you know, if I do come back, I hope, I hope you guys come
12:08back too, because that'd be great, go and show love to all the amazing airsome artists out
12:13there, there are so many great people that are making just the most creative and, uh, underrated
12:20content out there, they deserve, they deserve the, the viewers and the support, so check
12:25them out, and, uh, yeah, I don't really have much more to say, thank you guys, and, um,
12:37yeah, thank you, thank you so much, see you guys.
