A Pakistan Air Force PAC MFI-395 Super Mushshak trainer aircraft crashed near Mardan during a routine training flight on June 15, 2026, killing both pilots on board. ISPR identified the deceased as Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the PAF and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy. Officials said the aircraft crashed in an open area after efforts were made to avoid populated locations. Two civilians sustained minor injuries from debris. The Pakistan Air Force has launched a high-level inquiry into the accident, while initial reports suggest a possible technical malfunction. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
