00:00Hello true believers, Ewan here from WhatCulture and with Spider-Man Noir now out on Amazon Prime,
00:05we thought we'd give you a couple of noir movies to go check out for yourself after you've seen
00:10the show. First up, because Spider-Man Noir is both in colour and in black and white,
00:15I'm going to recommend a seminal colour post-war noir and that is John Borman's Point Blank
00:21starring Lee Marvin. One of my favourite movies of all time, an absolutely gorgeous ghost-like
00:25romp through Los Angeles that, oh my god, Lee Marvin, what a guy, what an amazing actor,
00:30please go watch Point Blank. Currently a new Criterion edition out as well, so you have no
00:34excuses basically. Next up, I'm currently reading a Dorothy B. Hughes book called The Expendable Man.
00:40She is most famous for writing In a Lonely Place, which was turned into a movie starring Humphrey
00:46Bogart and Gloria Graham, directed by Nicholas Ray. Fantastic film, probably my second favourite
00:51bogey performance behind The Treasure of the Sierra Nadre, go watch it, it's fantastic.
00:54And then last up, I'm going to go for one that you probably haven't seen before and that is
00:59Jack Turner's Nightfall. Jack Turner directed Out of the Past, which is like one of the greatest
01:03film noir has ever made. But Nightfall, really underrated, Aldo Rey's in it, super stylish,
01:09super mean, great opening as well. So yeah, those are our noir movie recommendations. Go watch them.
