00:00Welcome to This Explainer. Today, we're taking a pretty dense reference sheet of system commands
00:05and turning it into a complete masterclass. Our goal? To help you completely ditch your mouse
00:10and seriously speed up your digital workflow. If you've ever felt completely bogged down by
00:15constantly dragging your cursor across the screen just to do something super basic,
00:19well, you are definitely in the right place. Look, we've all been there, right? You're totally
00:25in the zone, crushing a project, and suddenly you have to break your concentration just to hunt
00:30down some tiny button on your screen. It totally disrupts your flow, not to mention the literal
00:34physical fatigue in your wrist from all that endless clicking. If we want to stop losing precious time,
00:39we've got to turn these abstract keystrokes into deep muscle memory. When your hands never have
00:43to leave the keyboard, the interface actually starts to feel like an extension of your own thoughts.
00:48Okay, so we are tackling the mother load today. We've got a complete master list of 27 supported
00:54Windows shortcuts. Now, trying to learn all of these at once is a bit much, so we're going to break
00:59this
00:59down. We'll turn this into a really organized spatial tour of your digital workspace, mapping
01:04these commands to exactly where and when you'll actually use them. To make this super easy, we're
01:09going to explore the interface spatially. We'll cover 1. Conquering the grid view, 2. Editing and
01:15version control, 3. Mastering filters and views, 4. Promptbox and search hacks, and finally 5. Video
01:22editing secrets. Let's jump right in. Alright, section 1. Conquering the grid view. We're
01:27starting right in your primary workspace, where you probably spend the absolute majority of your
01:32time organizing assets. Let's build some quick confidence with standard commands you probably
01:37already know. Control-C. You know it. You love it. Just hit it to copy your selected assets.
01:43And naturally, to drop those copied assets right back into the grid, or into a totally new
01:48collection, you just hold control and press V. Boom! Your assets are exactly where you need them.
01:54Now, when things get a little cluttered, and they always do, right, cleaning up is an instant tap
02:00away. Just select your unwanted items and hit delete or backspace. Instant cleanup, zero friction.
02:06Let's put this into a real scenario. Say you want to preview a file. Just hit the space bar to
02:11pop it
02:11open in the lightbox. Found what you want? Hit enter or return to jump straight into edit view.
02:17Want to bundle some assets together? Use control plus G to group them into a collection. And if you
02:23need to pull something offline, hitting control plus D will download it instantly. See? You're
02:28completely orchestrating your workflow, and you haven't touched the mouse once. Let's talk workspace
02:33layout, because you can actually control your view using just three keys. Hit the equal sign to blow up
02:39the grid size to large for detailed viewing. Hit the minus key to shrink it down to small, so you
02:44can
02:44scan hundreds of files at once. And if you ever get lost in the weeds, just hit zero to instantly
02:49reset your grid to the default size. And of course, a grid is only as good as the content inside
02:55it.
02:55To actually bring new files in, you can completely skip the whole drag and drop thing. Just hit control
03:01plus U, and your upload triggers instantly. Moving right along to section two, editing and version
03:07control. Let's see what happens when we dive deeper and hit enter to go into the edit view.
03:13This is where it gets really intuitive. The directional arrows actually change their job
03:17based on your goal. Think of it this way. Your left and right arrows move you horizontally to the next
03:23or previous asset. But your up and down arrows? They move you vertically through time. Hitting the down
03:29arrow takes you to the next version in your history, while the up arrow pulls up a previous version.
03:33It's basically time travel for your files. And when you're finished fine-tuning your work,
03:38getting back out to the safety of the main grid is a total breeze. You just tap the letter U
03:42or the
03:42escape key, and you're popped right back out to your wide-angle view, ready for whatever's next.
03:47Okay, section three, mastering filters and views. Because honestly, as your library grows,
03:53finding your stuff fast is absolutely crucial. Here is where you'll save so much time.
03:58The shift modifier family. You just pair shift with the first letter of what you want.
04:03Shift plus I filters for images. Shift plus V filters for videos. Shift plus U filters for
04:09your uploads. And shift plus G just toggles your overall view. So simple. This is a massive time
04:16saver. As the rule goes, the shift key acts as the universal modifier for your filtering commands.
04:21It's kind of brilliant, because once you get the logic, you don't even have to memorize anything.
04:25You just think, hey, I need videos. And your fingers hit shift V automatically.
04:29Next up, section four, prompt box and search hacks. Let's dive into the generative AI elements
04:35and search tools of your workspace. Imagine you're completely hands-free. Step one,
04:41hit the forward slash key from anywhere to instantly open search, or control plus F to focus there.
04:47Step two, rapidly type out your query. Step three, instead of reaching for your mouse to click away,
04:53just hit escape. That immediately jumps your focus from the prompt box right back to the grid so you
04:58can interact with your results. It's incredibly fluid. But what if you are deep in the zone,
05:04actively crafting a prompt or tagging assets inside the prompt box itself? How do you get to your
05:09menus? Well, the at symbol actually acts as a dedicated trigger. When your cursor is inside the
05:14prompt box, simply typing the at symbol forces the plus menu to open right there. It gives you instant
05:19access to your tools and tags without breaking your typing flow. Literally a game changer for speed.
05:25And finally, section five, video editing secrets. This is for all you pixel perfect creators out
05:31there working in the video edit view. We all know video needs extreme precision. Well, just hold the
05:38shift key with your left or right arrows to get exact frame by frame scrubbing. Shift plus the right arrow
05:44pauses the video and nudges you forward exactly one frame. Shift plus the left arrow steps you back
05:49one frame. That is complete control with absolutely zero mouse clicks. No more awkwardly dragging a tiny
05:57timeline playhead trying to find a specific cut. You just step back and forth frame by frame with total
06:03uninterrupted focus. So what does this all mean for you? From filtering your vast grid using those shift
06:11mnemonics to stepping through video frames one by one, the power to work faster is literally right at
06:18your fingertips. I want to challenge you. Which shortcut are you actually going to integrate into your
06:24workflow today? Seriously, pick just one technique from this explainer right now. Force yourself to use
06:30it and take that first step toward becoming a faster, more fluid creator. Thanks for hanging out with me on
06:36this deep dive.
