00:00As we prepare for the official opening ceremony of the 3rd International Summit of Religious Leaders 2026.
00:14Malaysia is of course a trading nation. We have to live the stark reality.
00:19We have to engage with all countries. We maintain the best of relations with the West and the East.
00:28And Malaysia is also a multi-racial country.
00:32Islam is the religion of the Federation.
00:36As guaranteed under the Constitution, particularly by the Sultans, as hate the religion in each state or province.
00:45But this is a multi-racial country.
00:48We exercise our rights, our duties with respect and deference.
00:56We want to ensure that every single member of our society, every single citizen, feel safe, equally protected.
01:10And we believe that this spirit, if consistently followed, will be the example for humanity at large.
01:23So, we certainly welcome your discourse today as humanity grapples with the challenges of global crisis.
01:36A reality fraught with volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity that tests our collective wisdom, resilience, and conscience.
01:50More alarmingly, religion, which ought to be a wellspring of peace, tranquility, prosperity, and cohesion is often politicized and manipulated
02:05to fuel hostility.
02:07And this is, of course, a challenge to religious leaders too.
02:11Having said and given all the accolades about your role, your contributions, your sacrifice,
02:21please do acknowledge the fact that there have been major transgressions in the name of religion,
02:33which are supposed to promote peace, but promote discord instead.
02:40Which are supposed to promote tolerance and justice, but condone violence and injustice.
02:49Therefore, our strength lies not in uniformity, but in our capacity to manage differences fairly and justly.
03:00There's nothing quite as impactful as organic, intercultural, and interreligious discussions and relations.
03:08But formal and structured interreligious dialogue like this summit completes the ecosystem of synergetic coexistence.
03:20So, thank you again for giving us this rare honour.
03:25And thank you again for giving us the hope and the encouragement to continue and pursue this mission.
03:36Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
