00:06Ayurveda, the oldest surviving medical system in the world is an asset for India. Ayurvedic
00:14science is not merely a traditional Indian form of medicine but a naturopathic system
00:20of health care that has survived the test of time. One of the world's oldest holistic
00:30healing system Ayurveda originated in India more than 3000 years ago. It comprises the
00:37health of body, mind and spirit. It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend
00:43on a delicate balance between the three. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit
00:49words Ayur which means life and Veda which means knowledge. Thus Ayurveda translates to
00:56knowledge of life. It is a science that is handed over through generations by various
01:04people that understood what is life all about and how to live life with a
01:10disease-free body.
01:15According to Ayurveda, every person is made of five elements, earth, water, air, fire,
01:22space. Ayurveda aims to promote good health not fight disease. It is believed that nature
01:28has the power to cure any disease and help anyone lead a healthy lifestyle.
01:34Ayurveda, as you know, God has given us, all that is there in this universe is given us in
01:41our body also. So whatever is there in the cosmos is there in our body. And these five elements
01:46that is there is divided into Vata, Pitta, Khava.
01:52All diseases like arthritis, spondylitis, rheumatism, paralysis, leptis, everything. I don't think
02:01there is a cure for this sort of problems in any other medicines.
02:15Having its root in India, Ayurveda is now gaining popularity all across the world for its natural
02:21and cost-effective remedies, giving the ancient medical practice a well-deserved boost. After
02:28a very long time, Ayurveda has regained ground and its usage and market is expanding with a very
02:34fast-paced.
02:40So I have to see that the good products are used for these therapies. Manufacturers who are
02:46manufacturing should be doing justice to what they are manufacturing and no way the Ayurveda
02:55as science should lose its actual form.
03:05The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic also pushed the demand for Ayurveda products in India.
03:11Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address donation, also mentioned about using Ayurveda
03:16medicines for improving immunity against COVID-19, resulting to a massive surge in demand of Ayurvedic
03:23medicines.
03:23Ayurveda economy witnessed 90% growth post-COVID. In fact, 90% people want to adopt Ayurveda as
03:31the first call of treatment in the current scenario.
03:34Ayurvedic principles are being increasingly incorporated by many health solution providers,
03:40including consumer goods products.
03:47As per a WHO report, more than 80% of the world population uses medicines, meat from herbal and
03:54natural products. The global Ayurvedic market size was valued at $6.50 billion in 2020 and is
04:01projected to reach $21.12 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 15.63% from 2021 to 2028.
04:12Indian Ayurvedic products market reached a value of Rs.515 billion in 2021.
04:18Looking forward, the market is projected to reach Rs.1536.9 billion by 2027.
04:26According to the Indian government, Ayurveda is recognized as a system of medicine in 16
04:30countries. Ayurvedic products are being exported to more than 100 foreign countries either as
04:36medicine or food supplements.
04:38The government also getting involved in this is very nice because they are now promoting
04:42India by itself because this is just purely, this is one medicine that is purely Indian.
04:48So nobody else can take claim of it. Like we started a center in Japan was the first place
04:55where we started because that country wanted Ayurveda. Now to take that medicines over there,
05:01we had so much difficulty. But now the government is allowing all that. The government has started
05:06putting their hands into it and a committee called Ayush is now being formed. Ayush now helps
05:13in exporting the products outside.
05:21The global acceptance of traditional practices of herbal and Ayurveda treatments has also broadened
05:27the prospects of Ayurveda tourism in India. Ayurveda is a proven science which has the power
05:34to revolutionize the modern healthcare ecosystem with its advocacy, practices and treatment and make
05:41the future healthcare more sustainable. Ayurveda is known for its prevention is better than cure
05:47philosophy which can make human lifestyles healthier.
