00:11Their presence is a clear violation of China's commitments
00:15under the 2002 Declaration of Candacal Parties in the South China Sea.
00:22We therefore urge China to withdraw and remove the platform and structures from Bajo de Masinlok.
00:28The Philippine Coast Guard also presented a timeline of the Philippines' monitoring of structures inside the reef.
00:34The National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea earlier said
00:37the DFA had filed several demarches and the protests against China over the structures.
00:43But Deputy Assistant Secretary Rogelio Villanueva Jr. declined to go into detail about the protests.
00:49Meantime, retired Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio warns
00:53the Philippines should protest China's declaration
00:55that the High Seas Treaty does not apply to the South China Sea
00:59or else it will lose an area larger than our total land area.
01:02South China Sea refers to a body of water that includes the West Philippine Sea
01:07which the Philippines considers its territory.
