00:00I think we are celebrating what has been achieved so far this year
00:04and we are looking forward to new deals, new projects to be realized from now on.
00:12Global energy markets are continuing to evolve under mounting geopolitical pressure
00:16caused by growing demand and the accelerating push toward cleaner energy systems.
00:21World leaders, ministers and major energy companies gathered at Baku Energy Week
00:25to discuss the future of energy security.
00:28Baku Energy Week is a milestone for us to report back to ourselves, to the world and to look forward.
00:34And I believe that we will remember this Energy Week in terms of new areas that we are exploring,
00:40especially in the area of renewable energy, energy efficiency and minerals area that you saw contracts signed off about.
00:49For more than three decades, Baku Energy Week has acted as a meeting point between producers, transit states and consumers.
00:56But this event is not simply about oil and gas.
01:00From renewables, artificial intelligence to infrastructure, from logistics and regional connectivity,
01:06discussions here reflect how rapidly the global energy landscape is changing.
01:11Over 270 companies from around 46 countries attended.
01:15The opening ceremony reinforced Azerbaijan's role as an increasingly important energy and transport hub between Europe and Asia.
01:23Today it's difficult to imagine what the European energy market would look like without the Southern Gas Corridor.
01:30We must be very pragmatic and based on realism, planning our future with respect to energy security and also investing
01:42in renewables.
01:44There was, I think it was some amazing numbers, like seven and a half billion dollars worth of contracts signed
01:52during the opening ceremony.
01:55The geopolitical situation in the world in general is that prices are very volatile at the moment.
02:04And Azerbaijan is a big producer supplying energy to the world.
02:10And so it was very timely to have the event now.
02:15Energy diversification remains central to discussions, particularly as governments and companies seek stable supply routes and greater resilience across global
02:24markets.
02:24I want to tell you that this platform is very important for this time.
02:32In our time, you know, there is a problem with the resources of energy.
02:37In this time, you can change your experience, and I think that it will be very useful.
02:42To have energy, electricity produced from renewables, but also access to stable and reliable source of gas.
02:52Still, the gas will be there to provide the flexible generation.
02:56Alongside traditional hydrocarbons, this year's forum also places strong emphasis on renewable energy, digitalization,
03:03and the future technologies shaping the next generation of global energy systems.
03:08I think this event is truly a bonding force between various organs of energy, whether it's oil, whether it's gas,
03:20whether it's thermal power, whether it's renewable power.
03:23It covers aspect from all organs of the society, all organs of the industry.
03:28Probably the one thing that stands out for me is how an event like this is catalyzing collaboration.
03:35I think the energy systems that we need to provide to ensure that sustainability, affordability, and diversification of energy is
03:46becoming more and more complex.
03:48Connectivity, security, and sustainability are all themes that have emerged throughout Baku Energy Week,
03:55as well as a focus on transportation and digital transformation.
03:59But for the host nation and the wider Caspian region, they aim to not just position themselves as suppliers,
04:07but also as strategic connectors across continents.
04:10We are working a lot for the interconnectivity within Europe and as well between Europe and the countries,
04:19countries which are like Turkey and via the Black Sea directly with Georgia and Azerbaijan is our key partner on
04:30this aspect.
04:33So we see that the only way to achieve the results of the policy of European Union is to be
04:42very active and very well interconnected.
04:45As global markets continue to evolve, platforms like Baku Energy Week demonstrate how energy diplomacy is increasingly intertwined with infrastructure,
04:55technology, and international cooperation.
