00:00We all want to be environmentally friendly. There's nothing friendly about littering,
00:06about fly tipping. It is a national embarrassment. It's a national disgrace. And it is not the
00:13sign of a healthy nation. It is a sign of a nation that is ill at ease with itself,
00:21that has given up caring. And it's frankly, simply unacceptable. But we can reverse this.
00:28We can restore a sense of pride in how our streets, our parks and our
00:33countryside look and feel. And that's why today we're announcing three key areas of
00:41change under reform, many of which we will be able to enact within the councils
00:47that we control. We'll be imposing substantial additional fines for fly
00:53shipping and proper enforcement. We need an annual National Action Day to rekindle civic pride
01:03in our communities.
