00:00A lavish welcome for Chinese President Xi Jinping on the streets of Pyongyang.
00:05This is Xi's first visit to North Korea in seven years.
00:09He met with the country's leader, Kim Jong-un, reportedly agreeing to boost ties.
00:29This visit also shows the world that no matter how the international situation may evolve,
00:34the time-tested North Korea-China relations remain unbreakable.
00:38Chinese state media says Xi pushed for more practical cooperation.
00:42And North Korean state media quoted Kim as saying his government will fully support China
00:48in defending the one-China principle, which Beijing sees as meaning Taiwan is part of China.
00:54Analysts say this isn't surprising.
00:56The PRC has been trying to get more and more countries to support, accept its one-China principle.
01:05So I guess this is a pattern in Beijing's diplomatic outreach in recent years.
01:11So I think Kim on his own probably might not care that much either way.
01:18This is probably at Beijing's behest.
01:21Still, the comment drew a strong response from Taiwan.

01:30對於北韓、互從中國的相關不當說法,以及中國一再透過與他國互動的場合。

01:49中華民國台灣是主權獨立的民主國家,與中華人民共和國互不隶属。
01:57This is Xi's first foreign visit of 2026.
02:00That choice could indicate something about China's diplomatic priorities.
02:04And it comes after back-to-back visits to China from U.S. President Donald Trump and
02:09Russian President Vladimir Putin.
02:11So I guess this continues to solidify the image of the PRC as being center to world
02:20politics and global diplomacy.
02:21The two-day state visit will end on Thursday, but its geopolitical implications could carry
02:27on beyond that.
