01:00İsrail has less than 100 nuclear weapons, but it too is increasing its nuclear spending.
01:06And we've seen some more activity around the Dimona nuclear reactor.
01:11Now, Israel is not public about its nuclear weapons.
01:15It won't even confirm that it has these bombs, even though everybody in the world knows that they do.
01:22Their increase on spending is an increased risk for themselves and the region.
01:28So, we've seen some changes in how Israel talks about nuclear weapons.
01:33We've actually seen a cabinet member threaten the use of nuclear weapons, though he was swiftly reprimanded.
01:40Because Israel does not want people to understand that it has the bombs capable of wiping out its own country
01:47and the region.
01:49It's extremely dangerous.
01:51Israel is the only country in the Middle East that has nuclear weapons.
01:56And they pose a threat to Israelis as well as to everyone in the neighborhood.
02:02The U.S. and Israel attacked Iran in February.
02:05It sent a message that nuclear weapons are a threat and a risk to everyone.
02:11And no one should have these weapons.
02:13What they forgot to talk about is that the U.S. spends more on its nuclear arsenal than anyone else.
02:20And Israel is the only nuclear-armed country in the region.
02:25So, these attacks were unjustified and illegal.
02:28And they are not a solution to the challenge around any nuclear program.
02:34We have seen, since we've been doing this report, an average of 10% a year increase on nuclear spending.
02:41But it does not have to be this way.
02:44We know from experience that countries can change their plans and stop spending on nuclear weapons.
02:51And that is our call.
02:52We need to reprioritize towards human needs, towards taking care of our environment and taking care of our future,
03:00and not weapons of mass destruction.
