00:02Milwaukee Brewers are the hottest team in baseball right now.
00:04They just set a franchise record by becoming the fastest team in Brewers history to reach 40 wins, doing it
00:09in just 63 games.
00:11They completed a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies with a 12-4 victory on Sunday.
00:15The offense exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by Gary Sanchez's two-run home run.
00:20Shane Rohan pitched six and one-third innings, allowing just three earned runs for his first big league win.
00:24The Brewers are now 21-9 over their last 30 games and lead the National League Central by a comfortable
00:29margin.
00:30Ace Jacob Mizorowski has been dominant this season, entering play with a 6-2 record and a 1.65 ERA.
00:35But Mizorowski also made headlines for the wrong reason, hitting Rockies batter Tyler Freeman in the head with a 98
00:40.5 car at 101.
00:42Freeman was conscious and walked off the field on his own power.
00:44The bullpen has issues, though.
00:46All-star closer Trevor Majel has a 14.40 ERA and was booed at home after blowing a save.
00:51Manager Pat Murphy defended him, saying, quote,
00:52These aren't machines out there. These are people.
00:54The Brewers now have eight pitchers on the injured list, including D.L. Hall with a pectoral straight and Brandon
00:58Woodruff with shoulder inflammation.
00:59They just acquired veteran reliever Joel Kunil from the Athletics for cash to add bullpen depth.
01:03Despite the injuries, Milwaukee keeps winning and looks like a serious contender.
01:06That's all for now. Thanks for watching News Plus Globe.
