00:30This had always been looked upon as the Queen stage
00:31The time trial had set up some of the gaps we now see
00:34Where Anna van der Breggen is in the Malia Rosa
00:37Wearing a bandage as well from the crash she'd had the day before
00:42This climb, for the first time in this race
00:44Was set to be the big decider
00:46But I can tell you, there was more drama to come
00:49And it wasn't just the racing
00:50The flag was dropped
00:52And notably today, an opportunity for general classification riders teams
00:56To get advanced satellite riders into the breakaway
01:00In hope they might be able to help their GC leaders
01:03When they came onto the climb
01:03Fantastic, by the way, to see the Afghan national champion
01:06Fariba Hashimi in there
01:08She and her sister have a fascinating story
01:10About how they turned up in pro cycling
01:12Great to see her in the breakaway of 16 riders
01:17And they arrived at the Miana di Souza sprint point
01:22For those Malia Rosa points
01:24And it was Silvia Persico taking that from the breakaway
01:27Ahead of yesterday's winner, Celia Geri
01:29And this was the pacing behind
01:30Being set by Kristen Faulkner
01:33This was the moment that all the general classification riders
01:36Had been waiting for
01:37And our 16 riders in the breakaway
01:38As they started to work their way
01:40In to the 18km of the Colle della Palestra
01:43Were starting to drop
01:44This was the group of general classification favourites
01:47And they'd picked up Lauren Dixon
01:49Lauren Dixon, who was brewing a brilliant job
01:51Then we saw this as well
01:52Marlon Rosa telling Francesca Barale
01:55Who'd been in the breakaway
01:56To go with them
01:57Because she obviously, by the looks of things
01:58Did not have the pace at that point
02:00She continued
02:01And actually didn't climb too badly
02:03Judging by that moment
02:06There were a number of satellite riders
02:08Who'd been in the day's breakaway
02:09Who were emptying themselves
02:10To do their best for their team leaders
02:13But I have to say
02:14Lauren Dixon, the British rider
02:15Was an incredible worker
02:18For Damie Vollering
02:19Doing everything
02:20And it was causing problems
02:22And Issa Longo-Borghini
02:23Again finding herself
02:25Having to try and chase back into the group
02:27And gradually
02:28Just gradually
02:29We were starting to see the sort out
02:30To be the same four riders at the front
02:32That we'd had at the close of Stage 5
02:36Now, as they were tackling the gravel point
02:38We got some important news coming through
02:40Due to the breakage of a sheet of ice
02:42Situated 150 metres above the route
02:44And following an assessment by park experts
02:46The risk of an ice fall was deemed too high
02:49And consequently, race organisers
02:51In consultation with the public safety authorities
02:53And the panel of race officials
02:55Decided to move the finish line
02:56To just under one kilometre
02:58From the top of the Colle della Fenestra climb
03:01Where times were recorded
03:02Mountains points and finish bonuses
03:04And points for the classifications were awarded
03:06And this is how it finished right now
03:09Femke de Vries was doing her best
03:10To try and stay with the leading four
03:12But the leading four were the same four riders
03:14Who went to the finish in Santo Stefano di Cadore
03:18Isabella Holgrim was not sitting back
03:21And waiting for Anna van der Bregg
03:22And Demi Vollering to do their thing
03:24Vollering had attacked twice herself already
03:27But the four were locked together
03:28And eventually, Anna van der Bregg
03:30And the race leader
03:31As they rode up into the miss
03:32Decided the best way to prevent the attacks
03:34Was to set the pace on the front
03:36Demi Vollering sitting in
03:37Antonia Niedermeyer and Isabella Holgrim
03:40Those young riders coming through
03:42And showing they are in this race
03:44More than a match for Anna van der Bregg
03:46And Demi Vollering
03:47That said though
03:48Van der Bregg just kept setting the pace
03:50They knew now
03:51They were coming very, very close
03:53To the new finish line
03:54Just before the top of the Colle della Fenestra
03:58And that was enough to see
03:59Demi Vollering open up a little gap
04:02Get the 10 second bonus
04:03A tiny gap really on the others
04:05Anna van der Bregg
04:06And having done the pacing
04:07All the way up there
04:08In the Mallea Rosa
04:09Coming across the line
04:11Safe
04:12Delighted I suspect
04:13That it was finished
04:14And at the high point as well
04:16Having reached the Alfacina Strada
04:19The high point of this year's race
04:21Demi Vollering
04:22The stage winner
04:23Her second stage win
04:25And her second stage win ever
04:26It has to be said
04:27In the Giro d'Italia women
04:28She's loving this year's race
04:29Anna van der Bregg
04:30Is still in the Mallea Rosa
04:32And Lisa Balsamo
04:34Enjoying her time
04:35In the Mallea Rosa
04:37You're going to have to join us
04:38For tomorrow's final stage
04:39Because that means tomorrow
04:40Is going to be
04:41Absolutely crucial
04:44Guest
04:45We all got paid
04:45We all got paid
04:46We all got paid
04:46At the you
04:46But either
04:46As far
04:46We all got paid
04:47We all got paid
04:47So do!
