00:27a total over 300 in the opener and sammy pointed out areas where his players ought to improve if
00:34they are to secure a result and keep the series alive despite losing the opening odi by 41 runs
00:41on wednesday west indies head coach darren sammy is staying true to his preparations and game plan
00:45ahead of the second match tomorrow as the coaching staff we were really happy with what we saw coming
00:50out of the camp um some of the things we did in the in the game we controlled both power
00:56plays
00:56what we we came out you know after first 10 of us in each phase of the game batting and
01:02bowling we
01:02were we were on top it's about you know keeping that momentum winning more moments in the game
01:09to result in in a victory for us however there's one area in particular the st lucian is hopeful his
01:15west indian players can improve on i thought we definitely have to play their spin much better
01:22some of the the key um points we highlighted before the series the difference between play
01:29their spinners um on surfaces that that can't post a challenge and um you know their spinners went
01:38probably for 68 runs of 20 overs something that we got to be better at in the next game uh
01:43we've spoken
01:44about it um and it's about getting the confidence to how the all the skills they've been working on
01:50you know to to implement it in the game sammy highlighted a number of positives from their
01:55new opening pair their new ball spell and also the leadership of skipper she hope i see him as one
02:02of
02:02our greatest odi batsmen um his record his consistency um but for me just having been here working with him
02:12seeing him work um there's no surprise to me the the numbers he puts out there uh he he pays
02:18a lot of
02:18attention to details with his preparation um and and he works really hard to be consistent as for the
02:25sabina park surface tomorrow sammy gave his assessment and a prediction i think it will be a better surface
02:32the first game there was some bare patches where the ball spun but looking at the surface today i saw
02:41i saw i saw i saw uh it looked much better much harder so i expect it to be um
02:46firmer um so then
02:49um i don't expect it to to spin that much um but this is the caribbean we never know so
02:56terence clark tv6 sport right we head to the easternmost side of europe now as trinidad and tobago footballers

06:52reforms and we have another example that nothing's ready for free as 60 football fans managed to bag
06:58themselves free tickets for the world cup group stage matches in toronto after a glitch on the fifa
07:03website those fans were charged zero dollars during the online checkout process but fifa has now given them

09:50and despite producing a better distance than his 82.52 meters in rabat that won him a bronze medal
09:57kishon walcott just missed out on a podium finish in rome finishing fourth with a season's best distance of
10:0483.45 meters sri lanka's romesh tharanga patiraji flipped the script on grenada's anderson peters
10:11winning gold in a new meet record and world leading distance of 92.62 meters meanwhile the reigning
10:20olympic 100 meter champion and a 200 meter silver medalist julian alfred exacted some revenge on the
10:27olympic 200 meter winner melissa jefferson wooden in rome the st lucian opened her diamond league season with
10:33a season's best of 21.86 ahead of the american oh melissa jefferson wouldn't got a cracking start
10:45but then out in front it's julian alfred jefferson wouldn't try to run it down but he's not going to
10:50catch her because julian alfred continues to go away let's watch the clock it's going to be very quick
10:5621.93 thought it might even be a bit quicker than that the way they were going those two were

11:49since 14 year old archer rundon wilkinson won gold at the panam youth and masters archery championships
11:55however the victory sensation is still fresh in his hearts of his family the he continues to make
12:02them proud by setting a personal best in training at the south archery club this week at south arrows
12:10archery club there's a lesson behind every session 14 year old rundon wilkinson is back to take his
12:16place among the other archery recruits as the sun sets in victoria village he has a story to tell after
12:23capturing gold at the panamerican youth and masters archery championships in the bearbo category
12:30well when i won when i made it past the bronze tournament
12:35i got a little nervous
12:39but i caught myself down and told myself i was gonna win this
12:44and when you won it how did you feel well i felt proud that i was able to represent my
12:50country
12:51and got a gold medal
12:55and excited his father ron wilkinson remembers the tears of joy he cried in the in the hotel itself
13:02hotel with my watch run down and tears came to my heart tears came to my heart i had to
13:10let him know go
13:10downstairs run you go downstairs let them know i'll be done i'll be downstairs shortly just to try and compose
13:19myself because it was tears of joy he took a bet with his son and he had to pay up
13:25i told him if he
13:26brought home a medal with the club i will organize his personal book so you have a personal buffet well
13:37that taboo we're using as a personal book i bought that for him but as the case maybe he out
13:44he will need
13:45new equipment because he outgrowing it as it gives me it's no fluke that randon managed to win the gold
13:52medal his coach showing francis had been tracking his progress on randon i could also see what he's been
13:59doing so far right so yesterday he got the score i could see what his personal best um you know
14:06he shot
14:08like this time he shot like a this was probably a new record 618 but not official and you know
14:14second montage progress you know as he comes training from day to day um every week randon progress has
14:23been really great in the club um randon only started actually through our archery in schools program
14:30addison stevens college and i remember randon being a very timid shooter at first you know you know
14:36you know always himself keeping himself and um you will see that the way he operates but he's very
14:42focused once he's on the line like he's in his zone right like this sport seemed to take tim very
14:48well
14:48um what i would say about randon though that impressed me a lot no matter what competition
14:55we hosted whether it was an indoor tournament uh target event like he took part in in columbia or a
15:01field event randon was always there taking part in all the tournaments and what impressed me a lot is
15:08how we manage the field events the field events are events where you have targets at varying distances
15:14and some cases unknown and you have to estimate those distances without a sight if anything randon's
15:21win has brought his family closer together as they set a new target in guyana sergio dufour tv6 sport
15:29now as chantal adams continues her punch all the way up boxer tiana guy is hoping to win a medal
15:37at the
15:37central american and caribbean games she's been finding her focus at the gym in preparations for the tournament
15:45when a boxer finds a rhythm there are a few things that fall into place in the eyes of boxing
15:50greats they develop their own characteristic bounce their jab becomes sharper and there's a glow of
15:56optimism between coach and athlete if the signs prove to be true boxer tiana guy is finding her groove
16:02just in time for the csc games is set to begin july 24th i think when the first csc games
16:10i went to
16:11i was really really new i only had like four or five fights so a lot of it i don't
16:16remember
16:16my second csc game there was more season and this one i am excited because i feel like i am
16:23i've matured more besides a fighter as a woman as a so just as an individual on the whole so
16:29i'm just
16:29excited to see that that um transformation happen in the ring she has found herself in the right
16:37mental space after meeting a sports psychologist i have this tendency when it comes to fighting
16:42persons of a probably lower standard than myself i sort of bring myself down to their standard unknown
16:49like unconsciously it's just like i'm faster than this person but for some reason i just unconsciously
16:56bring my speed down so through work with amanda we were able to figure out what was even the problem
17:02adjust it so that's why as i said later i'm actually really really excited to see the performance guy
17:09believes that that this time she is in contention for a medal my objective is had my main objective
17:15have always been to ensure that whatever i do in training i executed the fight um another objective
17:21is to stay mentally there in the fight meaning like keep my focus level listen to my corner the tactical
17:29plan
17:29um another objective is not to be as emotional meaning not to respond or react out of emotions really
17:38right always try to keep a level head and make my tactical decision that's only training parts of
17:44things and i believe that i am of the level now where i should be aiming for a medal at
17:51csc games she
17:52believes that that doing well at csc is key in her build-up towards the 2028 olympics for now though
17:58guy is
17:59prepared to take it one step at a time one punch at a time and one contract at a time
18:06sergio dufour tv's
18:07export well the world cup is more than just about wins and losses it's about people from all over the
18:13globe coming together to cheer for the players teams and countries they love here's how some potential
18:19future stars of the pitch feel about the world cup are you aware that the world cup is coming here
18:27to
18:28yeah sounds super excited like there's so much teams like it's also like people like ronaldo's last world
18:35cup i think messes do you know what the world cup is yes what is it's basically a tournament with
18:42a lot of
18:43different countries that's the beautiful theme about about soccer that you don't need language to to
18:50play or make friends or have fun what do you think it would take to be good enough to play
18:57on a team in
18:58the world cup hard work intelligence practice what do you love about playing soccer um i don't know it's fun
19:07i like when my feet touch the ball because i just like to get past players and then just start
19:12running
19:12and then look out and see if i can score the pass how does it feel when you score a
19:18goal out here
19:19well at the first goal you're like yes let's go i find i got a goal and the second goal
19:24like the cup like how happy you're feeling it's it's like less like oh i scored another goal
19:31jeez i'm pretty good who are you gonna cheer for in the world cup and why england because of i
19:39was born
19:39there and yeah that's it i'm cheering for portugal because it's ronaldo's last world cup come on
19:48ronaldo fans we gotta cheer for him do you have a favorite team it's argentina but this year i kind
19:54of want brazil to win why because i feel bad for them why do you feel bad for them
20:01they didn't like really get a chance to win since like 1980s also i'm steering for spain because
20:09i know they can possibly make it to the world cup finals and germany because i'm also from there
20:16maybe i might watch my family to a real stadium i don't know it's gonna be new york you're gonna
20:23try
20:23and get tickets yes they're expensive you've been saving your money uh yes oh yeah good for you and
20:29i won't be sad if a team if one of my teams like loses it i'll be like there's a
20:35new team i should
20:36probably look for lovely indeed to hear the young people thanks to our friends from new york for that
20:41and we're down to two now as the finalist for this year's men's french open final is set german
20:48alexander zverev has his best chance to win his first career grand slam after overcoming the
20:55promising is jacob menzik menzik did manage to win one set but zverev was dominant as he won 75
21:0162 36 63 this is the germans fourth major final but the title has always eluded him coming up against
21:09carlos alcaraz and yannick sinner standing in the way of the 29-year-old and his maiden title is italian
21:1510th seed flavio caboli the italian did not break a sweat in his semi-final as he earned a walkover
21:23against fellow italian matteo analdi due to illness
21:30but it's time we raise a toast to the underdogs as we close your week with a bit of magic
21:36on your
21:37friday play of the day wake up core favorite spain feel together resounding sender they had hoped for
21:44against iraq in la carunia hurran torres scored what seemed to be the first of many goals to come
21:50after 16 minutes but the spaniards were left shell-shocked by iraq
22:15the iraqi winger caught the spanish keeper slacking with a moment of magic so for his magical strike
22:22that took some luster off of spain merkas dusky strikes his way to tonight's tv6
22:30play of the day if you never looked at international football and you hear that extended goal
22:37you know it's a spanish commentator all right that's a look at sport more news after this
