00:00Being able to welcome them here before the World Cup in their quest for the Hexa (sixth World Cup title) is really great.
00:06I feel happy and honored to be a part of this moment.
00:11This is part of the Brazilian national team's preparation, this friendly match against Egypt here in Cleveland.
00:20It's a beautiful day today, and I hope it stays that way for the game too.
00:24And may Brazil host a great World Cup and perhaps even win their sixth title.
00:30Well, you came here to a square in Cleveland, mascot of the Cavaliers, mascot of the Brazilian national team,
00:36You've gathered some Brazilians here, how do you see this integration of fans and the national team?
00:42That's fantastic, in sports we always say that we have to join forces,
00:47Sport is health, sport is more than just sport, it teaches you many things.
00:50It teaches children and teenagers many things as well, it teaches them how to win, how to lose,
00:55teamwork and many other things.
00:58So, it's a cool interaction, really great to be able to have Moondog here along with Canarinho.
01:07Doing this kind of activity with the children, I think it's something that will leave a lasting impression.
01:12For these children in their lives, they will be able to, whenever the World Cup is on,
01:16Speaking of which, wow, there was a time when the Cleveland mascot, along with the Brazilian national team mascot,
01:20There in Cleveland and stuff, in the square, in the park, so that's really cool.
01:24I think these are things that leave a mark, and I'm very happy to be a part of them.
01:28Okay, are you feeling confident about the team in this World Cup?
01:30Confident, yes, we know it won't be easy, it's like I always say,
01:37In a competition like this, where you play every week, when you get to the knockout stage as well,
01:43Round of 16, quarterfinals, that kind of thing, you can't lose, so that's how it is in basketball.
01:48In football too, in a game, whoever wins is in, whoever loses is out.
01:52I think that if the team arrives in good shape, focused, playing good, well-rounded football,
01:56It has a great chance of, I would say, surprising us, right? Because many people don't believe in Brazil.
02:02But we believe that His Excellency is coming.
02:05I'd like you to explain how this group of Brazilians that you organize here in Cleveland works.
02:11I am the president of an NGO, Brasileiros em Cleveland, or Brazilians in Cleveland.
02:17We were formed in 2017, we are a community for Brazilians, right?
02:22There are many people who are recent arrivals, or come to Cleveland to work, to study,
02:29So it's difficult, isn't it, to find Brazilians here in Ohio?
02:31But we have many families here, more than 1,500 Brazilian families in the area.
02:37And it's important, right, to connect with other Brazilians, to go out to dinner together.
02:42to find Brazilian restaurants in the area, and also to have events about our culture, right?
02:47Like a June festival, something like that.
02:49Great, the Brazilian national team will play its last friendly match before the World Cup here in Cleveland.
02:54How is the Brazilian community anticipating this game?
02:57I think it was in January or February, everyone had already started talking about it.
03:01Who's going to the game, where are we going to sit, where's the group of fans?
03:05They'll meet up beforehand, so it's really cool to see the conversation going on in the group, right?
03:11To see, ah, we're going to that bar to start, where's your ticket?
03:15We're going to sit together, and we have a huge group of Brazilians in Cleveland who will be there at the game.
03:21Yes, it's general, not just among Brazilians, but it's widespread.
03:24Yes, there are many complaints about the price of tickets for the World Cup.
03:28It's promising here, the tickets are much more affordable, right?
03:31Can you see, for example, that this game, especially since it's against a national team...
03:35which is also qualified for the World Cup, right, which is Egypt,
03:38which is a good warm-up for this World Cup,
03:42To be able to watch a World Cup match between two national teams right here in your backyard.
03:48And at a more affordable price?
03:50Yeah, everyone was really happy when they heard the news that the game was going to be here.
03:55Since we live in Cleveland, it's very rare to have an event about our culture, our country, here.
04:02And to see that the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) will be here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, right?
04:07And many of us have been here for 10 years, even 30 years.
04:11And the team has never come here, our team, so it's a huge opportunity for us to go.
04:19And everyone is excited to go to the game.
04:21The price is very reasonable here, and nobody has to go on a plane or drive very far.
04:27You just get on the bus and go to the game, right?
04:30I think a good result here will give us more encouragement for the World Cup?
04:35I think so, they already are, they already won the last game against Panama.
04:41And I think it's going to be the same thing here against Egypt.
04:43Okay, are you feeling confident about the World Cup?
04:45Yes, absolutely, I'm already here, prepared for the World Cup.
04:49Go Brazil, let's go collect our sixth star.
