00:00First game, final set.
00:03Every time I practice, I'll be practicing shots that hopefully I'll use against her.
00:08I've done what I've always wanted to do.
00:10Right now I'm number one tennis player in the world.
00:12That was the first real rivalry that sparked that type of interest
00:17and gave legitimacy to the women's game.
00:22In the beginning, it was fine for me to be friends with her
00:26because I was better than her.
00:27That hurt.
00:28I knew that I needed to be more of a killer instinct.
00:33It was the lowest of lows in our relationship.
00:37Chris was the enemy, and she's the one that I had to beat to get to number one.
00:42They do some damage to each other emotionally.
00:44If you want to be great at something, you give up things.
00:49Sometimes it takes terrible things to happen for you to realize
00:52how you really feel about things.
00:55The goal is to get free of cancer.
00:58The second time really hit home.
01:00How precious every moment is.
01:02How precious life is.
01:05You don't ever know how much it's going to hit you one way or the other.
01:08You know?
01:08She's still scared.
01:11Some of the strength in my tennis comes into play with my cancer.
01:17They were battling a war forever on the tennis court.
01:20And now, in life, they're trying to save each other.
01:24This is about life or death now.
01:27There's no competition of whose cancer was worse.
01:30We're in the same boat.
01:38Like some guys, is the last one coming, would be good.
