00:07At an age when many slowed down, Jaipur's Renu Singhi chose to speed up.
00:12Starting cycling at 51, she went on to create endurance history.
00:19In October 2016, I had gone to buy a bicycle for my son.
00:24I casually bought one for myself too.
00:27For eight days, it remained parked at home.
00:30Then my son joked, has your enthusiasm already faded?
00:34That touched me and I started cycling.
00:38What began as a fitness attempt soon turned into a passion.
00:42Just one month after buying her bicycle, Renu surprised everyone by securing second place
00:48in a mountain biking competition in Rajasthan's Thar region.
00:52She soon entered the demanding world of endurance cycling.
01:00At that time, I didn't even know such big cycling competitions existed.
01:05But after my first long ride, I kept challenging myself, increasing distance after distance.
01:12From BRM rides to multiple Super Randano titles, Renu became Rajasthan's first cyclist to achieve the feat,
01:20earning the title Iron Lady of Rajasthan.
01:24Her success soon crossed international borders.
01:28In 2019, she completed the legendary 1200-kilometer Paris-Bress Paris Challenge in France,
01:35becoming the first Indian woman to complete the course.
01:38In 2022, she scripted another milestone, finishing the brutal 1550-kilometer London-Edinburgh-London race
01:48in 124 hours and 32 minutes, becoming the first ever Indian woman to do so.
01:57Five days of continuous cycling, lack of sleep, bad weather and difficult climbs.
02:03None of it is easy, but strong determination makes it possible.
02:08But the road was not always victorious.
02:11In 2023, Renu suffered two serious accidents.
02:15One left her with 25 facial stitches, fractures, broken teeth and multiple injuries.
02:22Months later, she was hit again while cycling in Jodhpur.
02:26Yet she returned to the saddle.
02:28In 2024, she cycled nearly 4200 kilometers from Italy to Norway, crossed eight countries
02:36and became the first Indian woman to complete the North Cape Challenge within 18 days.
02:44Many times, I couldn't find a hotel.
02:50I had to spend nights by the roadside or in open places.
02:54But I was determined to reach the goal.
02:57Today, Renu Singhi has cycled over 1.5 lakh kilometers across India and abroad.
03:03For her, fitness is not just about the body.
03:07It is about mental strength.
03:09Her journey proves that dreams do not come with an age limit.
