00:01The first place Brew opening a four game set with the San Francisco Giants to begin the work week and
00:06things have been tough down in the Bay Area. They're off to one of their worst starts in franchise history
00:11at 23 and 36. The Brewers at 35 and 21 and the vibes are great in the cream city. Brewers
00:17looking to get a season high 15 games over 500 time this year. Shane Drone is making the start for
00:23the Brewers today spot start for him. He's been phenomenal here in the month of May. He's been a Swiss
00:28Army knife two innings four innings four innings.
00:30Here third of an inning here. He can pitch in any circumstance. Another three two and he struck him out.
00:36Tied him up with a fastball one away to really great at bats. There's a lot of ways to win
00:41at bats. Schmidt works some deep and endeavors works at full count to a walk. Ground ball to second base
00:47could be two. They get one return throws in time. Brewers roll it up. A walk is all but the
00:54double play erases it. Yeah. The commander five and five with a three three oh 60 innings 68 strikeouts.
01:00The twenty two walks just three home runs allowed. Power stuff good life extraordinary curve and he gets a lot
01:05of soft contact and a lot of ground balls. He got it. First curve ball nasty. Roop strikes out Churio
01:13with the curve ball. And I love when he gets that look man he's attack he's vicious and look at
01:19the spin on this right here. Just an absolute dying. And Brewers got a two out double from terrain but
01:25they would strand him at second base. We go to the second inning no score.
01:28So Lee with a single for the Giants here. First base hit of the game for San Francisco. Been a
01:35tough year at the plate for Matt Chapman. Always been as good as they come defensively over at third base.
01:40The offense has come and gone at times for him over the course of his career. Chapman hits a high
01:46drive towards right center field. Churio all the way back at the wall. And he just.
01:52Lee and Chapman are trying to figure out. Did he catch it or not. He did not. It's a home
01:57run. Churio made a great effort. But Chapman goes deep. It's two nothing. Giants the flick of the wrist watching
02:05Chapman and BP today talking to him. He said he's going to be easy.
02:09Not swinging too hard. And he was hitting absolute tanks with the least amount of effort. You can just see
02:15that payoff here. Let the pitcher supply the pot. And two nothing Giants baby. Jake Bowers digs in against Roop.
02:23Three two. Kerr ball. Called strike three and a challenge from Bowers. Ball four. Pretty good use of a challenge.
02:30A really good challenge.
02:32Sal Freelich now. Swings and drives one out to the gap in right center. Lee is back. It's over his
02:37head and up against the bottom of the wall.
02:39Bowers going to be on the move around third. There's going to be a play at home. Here's the throw.
02:44It's late. Bowers slides in. It's a double from Sal.
02:50Yeah. Good hot Sal Freelich. It's nice to see that bat get going. Giants getting it in. They made it
02:56close at home play. But how about the slide by Bowers? Head first. Just does beat it at home play.
03:01So the Brewers on the board. That lead off walk. Just a few pitches later turns into a run. This
03:06is a liner in the left center field. That's going to get down for a base hit. They're going to
03:10wave Freelich around. There will be no throw. Renjifo drives in his 15th of the season. And how about this
03:16answer from the Brewers after the two run home run by Chapman. The Brewers have come right back at the
03:22Giants and evened it up.
03:23Now David Hamilton who's been bunting his way on base a lot. Hamilton lays down a bun. It's a good
03:29one. Chapman bobbles. Base hit for David Hamilton. That'll be a hit. Not even the platinum glove or Matt Chapman
03:36can make a play on those Hamilton bunts. Yeah. I don't think even if he puts it in the glove
03:41he's going to be able to beat Hamilton. It runs really well. Looking down at Christian Yellich with two men
03:46on and one away.
03:47That's ball four and they're loaded for Cheerio. You see the guy sitting behind him. He approve. I think I
03:53did I get a thumbs up from him there. He's back there somewhere. Brewers had two runs on the board
03:58sir. Cheerio for one today. First pitch. Line drive down the right field line. That is going to be a
04:04fair ball into the corner. One runs in. Two runs are in. Yellich is held a third. Just there down
04:11that right field line and the Brewers have the lead. My goodness. What a swing by Cheerio.
04:17Right down that right field line. But the Brewers jump all over. Roof here in the second inning. Nice answer
04:23to their two runs in the top of the inning. Fly ball to center. It's back. And it's over there.
04:31And it cooks. Here comes Terang. Cheerio scores. Terang will stop at third. And the Brewers have broken it open
04:41here in the bottom of the second.
04:42It is six to two Milwaukee. That ball almost out of here missed by maybe a foot. Terang with a
04:49double and a triple. And we mentioned he'd been scuffling a little bit coming in. Not tonight. Where are you
04:56going Pablo? Why is he leaving? Can't leave in the middle of a rally. Here's Contreras. Left field. This is
05:03going to be deep enough to score Terang. Over is Schmidt. He makes the catch. Terang's coming down the line.
05:09Zach Fly from Contreras makes it a seven run second inning. Top of the order against Landon Roop for the
05:16Brewers here in the home fourth inning. They lead the Giants seven to two. And Christian Yellich strides into the
05:22left handed box. Yellich bangs one towards the gap. And it'll fall in front of Cox. Yellich joins the hit
05:28parade. Single walk walk. Yellich to third. Cheerio to second.
05:33And then. Yeah. He definitely need to have someone up as soon as possible. When. His. Landon Roops having this
05:39big and misses the below is down. They're moving around but nobody's gotten up yet. Yeah. For nothing else than
05:47this is an important young guy. Big part of your. Present and future. So it's going to be the Brewers
05:53clean up batter. Group will go from the wind up. Big bounce it is sure to Dallas will get the
05:59out at second. Arise the first got a double play. Run score.
06:03Scores Yellich but beautifully turned by the Giants. It's eight to two. Giants and group really needed that. Almost pitched
06:10a scoreless fifth inning making his major league debut. Got it. Wilkin Ramos has a pretty good first strikeout. For
06:18his career. Christian Yellich. It's a really good one. It's a former MVP. Ninety six miles an hour top of
06:24the zone. That's got to get your feelings off. See. Terrain draws a walk. He is on for a fourth
06:29time. There was a better man on and every inning and it's Contreras. He's the only
06:33guy that has not reached base safely from the Brewers. That one in the left center and it's down. Terrain
06:40will go from first to third. Even with a six run lead the Brewers are still running the bases like
06:45it's a one run game. Yep. So Contreras joins the hit parade. He's got a base hit now in RBI.
06:51And the three one pitch is way outside ball four. So it is another one. The bases are loaded. Here's
06:58Vaughn now. Ground ball right side through base hit. Two runs is
07:03the score on his way to third as the ball gets away from Lee. They're going to send Bowers now.
07:08And now he holds up at the last moment. Two runs come across on the hit by Vaughn. How about
07:14Vaughn. How hot is he. Opposite field base hit. Big hole between first and second. He finds it. And two
07:21runs are in. And think about this. And he started with two outs. Nobody on. Walk. Single. Walk. Single. Typical
07:28Brewers. Any. Three. Two. Pitch low.
07:30Sinker just below the knees to Renhifo. And he draws a lead off. Walk. The walks are a huge part
07:36of the story of this game. Eight walks. That's tough to overcome. A one pitch. Line drive. Base hit. Pulled
07:44into right center field by Hamilton. First to third goes Renhifo as the new right fielder Derek Cotto throws it
07:51in. Second hit of the night for David Hamilton. The first two have reached against Matt Gage.
07:57They're in the corners with nobody out. Already leading by eight runs. Yelich is singled and walked today. Yelich. Shuttle
08:06right. Center base hit. Renhifo scores. It's 11-2. And Christian Yelich bloops in an RBI single to make it
08:1511-2 Milwaukee in the seventh. And there is still nobody out in the inning. After he had just one
08:21hit in that series in Houston over the weekend. He's been aboard three times. Every brewer has reached
08:27base safely at least once. At base hit through the right side. Churio drives in another run. The Brewers will
08:33put up a dozen. Three straight hits all through that right side against Gage. And just an incredible approach by
08:40the Brewers tonight. A lot of offensive field base hits. This one right down the middle of the plate. You
08:47would think a power hitter like a young Churio. Churio. To try and pull that baseball hit a home run
08:52but stayed back. Let the ball travel and finds a hole in the right field.
08:57All right. We got our answer. It's Buddy Kennedy just on the team today. His first career pitching appearance. There's
09:05a position player pitching right now but at the end of the year there's no asterisk. Yelich. And the left
09:10to base hit. And the run scores. Station to station. Third hit for Yelich. You just can't ask you to
09:16go up there and make out. I mean these are at bats. They all count. Every hit count. Season high
09:2117 hits tonight. Ortiz with a base hit in the right center.
09:27That's going to score at least two as Churio jogging his way in the third. It's a two run double
09:32for Joey Ortiz. Another quarter goes in the merry-go-round. There goes Contreras. Right center. Back and at the
09:41wall. Making the catch his lead. Tagging and scoring is Churio. Another sack fly. Contreras. 16 to 2. Giants down
09:50to their final out. Drew Gilbert will be the hitter.
09:54Ground ball to second base. Ground ball to second base. That'll do it. 16 to your final score. The Brewers
10:00a season high in runs and in hits tonight for Milwaukee. The Brewers win their 36th of the season. They
10:10improve to 36 and 21.
10:12One.
