Samara Weaving, Jason Segel, and director Jorma Taccone absolutely loved having Kumail Nanjiani come on set to cameo on "Over Your Dead Body."
Transcript
00:00When Kamil Nanjiani shows up, Jason, I was curious how you felt about him playing you.
00:05It felt right.
00:08No, I mean, we wanted to actually play on the idea of like what it's like when you movify a
00:15story like this.
00:16Because we were doing it.
00:16We were doing an adaptation ourselves of the Norwegian film.
00:20So something felt very meta about it.
00:22And I've known him a long time.
00:23It just felt like it was a super fun version of it.
00:27Yeah, no, I love it.
00:28And Samara, if anyone could have played you, who would you have picked?
00:32Jason.
00:34Pretty good match, I think.
00:36Yeah.
00:36What do you mean you're curious?
00:38Why?
00:39Look at his body.
00:40Yeah.
00:42Dude, the moment he got ripped, I was like, like for all comedy people, you were like, dag.
00:47Like I was just like, oh, so funny.
00:51Like, and it was so funny because like his character in the movie is like, he's so self-effacing at
01:00the end.
01:01And that really is who he is.
01:03Like as a person, like, like he's like not really like stretching it so much to be like, like, even
01:08when he was like talking about like, you know, first of all, did me this crazy solid of like flying
01:12out for like a half day part.
01:14And then, you know, but one, I love like, it's so honoring of like a South by Southwest audience.
01:20It's such a nerdy, like big up to like a comedy dude who got totally ripped and like, like what
01:27a nerd fantasy that is.
01:29And like, but I just, I love it.
01:31And like, and he got, and he gets like an applause break, which is incredible.
01:34But like, but also like that he was, when he was out there, he was like, God, I should have
01:40started myself for another week.
01:41I like, don't look.
01:42And we're like, you look massive, dude.
01:43Like, just like, like you couldn't be bigger.
01:46And anyway, it was so funny.
