00:00I think AI is one of the biggest threats, so, I mean, we are for the first time, we have
00:09a situation where there's something that is going to be far smarter than the smartest human, so, you know, we're
00:17not stronger or faster than other creatures, but we are more intelligent, and here we are for the first time
00:25really in human history with something that's going to be far more intelligent than us.
00:32So, it's not clear to me we can actually control such a thing, but I think we can aspire to
00:37guide it in a direction that's beneficial to humanity, but I do think it's one of the existential risks that
00:45we face, and it's potentially the most pressing one, but if you look at the time scale and the rate
00:50of advancement, it's, I think it's, the summit is timely, and I applaud the Prime Minister for holding it.
00:56Well, so, my hope for the summit is that we, that there's a consensus, an international consensus on the, initially,
01:06insight into advanced AI.
01:08We start with insight. I think there's a lot of concern among people in the AI field that the government
01:14will sort of jump the gun on rules before knowing what to do.
01:19And I think, I think that's unlikely to happen. I think what, what we're really aiming for here is to
01:25establish a framework for insight so that there's at least a third party referee, an independent referee that can observe
01:31what leading AI companies are doing and at least sound the alarm if they, if they have concerns.
01:36But, I think a couple of people are starting out more in the book cho let's say aónamus.
01:37So, I'm sad .
01:37I heard that in Iceland, together,
