02:01The Storm, Jade Cargill.
02:01Riptide!
02:04Maria wins the WWE title!
02:09Welcome to Friday Night Mommy!
02:15I'll be the champion of SmackDowns.
02:21Pressure bus pipe.
02:26Oh, hold up!
02:28Shane Cargill is here!
02:30Let's meet you in a big bar!
02:32We at Ripley found that out.
02:34Big pop kick!
02:36And that clash in Italy, I bust champions too.
02:41I'm never gonna run!
02:43Every single week you come out here trying to throw around your dominance.
02:49The detail that you continue to forget is that when it's just you and me,
02:55I am going to fight!
02:58I am Jay Cargill, I am one of one!
03:03Cargill has pinned the WWE Champion!
03:06When the match is done, you will be looking up at your true champion!
03:26A storm is coming!
03:53Corey, I want to start things off by asking you if Jay Cargill has the psychological advantage heading into this
04:01matchup tonight.
04:01Because in a 24-hour period just last weekend, Friday night SmackDown and then Saturday night's main event, Cargill was
04:08able to deliver Jayden not once but twice to Rhea Ripley and also pinned the champion in a tag team
04:15matchup.
04:15To answer your question, absolutely yes, I do think Jay Cargill has a psychological advantage.
04:22Not to mention the confidence possessed by this woman.
04:26I caught up with Jayden earlier today and I asked her what went wrong at WrestleMania and how do you
04:31stop it from happening again tonight?
04:33Jayden looked me dead in the eye. She said Rhea Ripley didn't beat me at WrestleMania. I beat myself. I
04:39got caught up in the pomp, the circumstance and the bright lights of the biggest stage.
04:43That doesn't happen tonight. Jayden says she hits Jaded tonight and leaves Italy with the gold.
04:50Interesting comments from the former champion.
04:58Even in defeat, I think most of the world would agree. Jay Cargill put on a career-defining performance at
05:04WrestleMania even though she came up short.
05:06If Cargill can shift her focus tonight, make a few small adjustments, we may not have a new champion tonight.
05:25This right here is what Cargill needs to be careful of, dealing with the WWE fans. We've seen on numerous
05:32occasions, Jayden take her eye off the proverbial ball and pay for it.
05:38This is my huge controversy.
05:43This is my huge pussy.
05:44This is my huge pussy.
05:52I mean, see you be the demons in your dreams. I mean, see you be.
06:01I mean, see you be.
06:03I mean, see you be.
06:05I mean, see you be.
06:12For the first time in her career, Rhea Ripley, in a matchup here in Italy, a country that
06:19she holds near and dear to her heart.
06:22Her grandpa and her grandma, who she was extremely close with, grew up here in Northern Italy.
06:28And then they would move to Australia, of course, where Rhea Ripley was born and would
06:35go on to start her wrestling career.
06:37Rhea said very emotional for her to be a part of this here tonight.
06:41Oh, it served Rhea well to keep those emotions in check tonight, unless she chooses to channel
06:47them toward her opponent, Jay Targill.
06:49Yes, we've seen, history has proven, Rhea Ripley is almost impossible to bet against when
06:55the stakes are as high as they are tonight.
06:58But Jade Targill is waiting.
07:00She is waiting for the moment to strike, to upset Rhea Ripley, and to turn the women's
07:07division upside down once again.
07:08Rhea Ripley, who, of course, beat Jade at WrestleMania with her first title defense since that night
07:15in Las Vegas.
07:17Targill is on her wall.
07:19We mentioned the win over Ripley in the tag match last week.
07:22Friday night on SmackDown, Jade knocked off Alexa Bliss and then delivered a jaded to Bliss
07:29to a steel chair.
07:30That was a statement making absolutely sure that Jade has all of Rhea's attention.
07:54Let's check in with Alicia Taylor.
07:58The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
08:03And it is for the WWE Women's Championship.
08:10Introducing first the challenger from Vero Beach, Florida, Jade Corkill.
08:28And her opponent from Adelaide, South Australia.
08:36Rhea, she is the WWE Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley.
08:51So let's talk about strategy in this matchup.
08:54First for a very confident champion in Rhea Ripley.
08:58I think Rhea Ripley needs to be very careful that she doesn't overlook or underestimate Jade
09:04Cargill.
09:04Yes, Rhea was successful on the grandest stage of them all at WrestleMania.
09:08But Jade Cargill has obsessed about that night since it took place.
09:12Jade was, to an extent, humiliated on the grandest stage of them all.
09:17This is Jade's opportunity to right the perceived wrong tonight in Italy.
09:21Corey, if you're Jade Cargill, how do you, quote, right that perceived wrong tonight?
09:25Deliver the heavy artillery early and often.
09:29This could come down to the Riptide versus Jaden.
09:32Which of these two women can land their finishing maneuver first?
09:43And a collar and elbow tie-up to start things off in this matchup for the WWE Women's Championship.
09:50Remember, this is still somewhat unfamiliar territory for Rhea Ripley.
09:54Not having the power advantage.
09:56Rhea has always had the strength advantage.
09:59Usually the size advantage over most of her opponents.
10:01That's not the case with the bigger, stronger Jade Cargill.
10:10Well, let's go, mommy chants from the over 12,000 here tonight in Italy.
10:14It's taken down by Rhea Ripley.
10:15And they're still in the collar and elbow tie-up.
10:19You know, Ripley did find a way to offset the power advantage of Jade at WrestleMania.
10:25And Rhea does have an abundance of tools at her disposal.
10:29Rhea, when need be, can take a high risk.
10:32She can push the pace of a matchup.
10:34That may give her the edge she needs to get past Cargill tonight.
10:37And there again, the power of Cargill as she slams Ripley in the middle of the ring.
10:43And now a bit of a...
10:45I can't agree with this.
10:47I understand this is Jade's prerogative.
10:49This is who Jade Cargill is.
10:50But she's dealing with Rhea bloody Ripley.
10:53Don't get too comfortable.
10:55Yeah, she just paid for it.
10:57Ripley begging Cargill back to her feet.
10:59Sends Jade outside the ring.
11:00Rhea looks to pick up the pace.
11:02There's that drop kick.
11:08Rhea feeding off this crowd.
11:10Oh, went for the cannonball.
11:12Jade able to intercept and then deliver a right hand.
11:15Jade just stuffed out a suicide dive attempt by Rhea Ripley.
11:20That was incredible.
11:21And now with Ripley up on her shoulders and driving her into the apron.
11:26Man, it is so hard to combat power.
11:34And again, a knee right on the jaw.
11:38That certainly rocked Rhea's world.
11:43Cargill's in love with herself, isn't she?
11:45That certainly seems to be the case.
11:47It's worked out fairly well for her so far.
11:50Into the ring to break the count.
11:52Cargill understands that count outs and disqualifications don't help her.
11:56She must pin her submit the champion.
11:58And that's something of a skill in and of itself.
12:00The ability to completely disregard and tune out the WWE universe.
12:03That's what Cargill, if anything, Cargill panders to their disdain, to their booze, and feeds off of them almost in
12:11reverse of how Rhea does.
12:12Follow a slam to the champion.
12:15And Cargill now controlling Ripley.
12:22I like the pace of Cargill tonight.
12:24Taking her time.
12:26Much more deliberate than you're used to seeing the smart strategy.
12:29Because again, as much as Jay Cargill may not personally like Rhea Ripley,
12:33Jay does have a modicum of respect for the abilities of Rhea Ripley inside the ring.
12:37You have no choice when you're defeated on the grandest stage of the mall by someone.
12:42And again, the fans here in Italy kind of will Rhea Ripley out.
12:50And Jay talking trash.
12:57And again, to your point earlier, it's not often that we see Ripley woman-handled like she's been here tonight.
13:03It is an unfamiliar sight, and now Cargill just stomping away.
13:08Using the long legs to her advantage.
13:15Complete disdain for the official.
13:22Notice how deliberate in all of her movements Jay Cargill has been to this juncture.
13:26No wasted motion, no wasted effort.
13:29Everything counts.
13:30And Ripley into the corner with authority.
13:33What a whip by Jay.
13:36And again, just showing off here tonight.
13:38Why not?
13:39She's dominating the champion.
13:47Ripley in serious pain here.
13:49You saw her favoring her lower back.
13:54It would serve Jay Cargill well to continue focusing on that area.
13:58Cover.
13:59Snap.
13:59Suplex into the cover and a kick out by Rhea.
14:06I like this pace of Cargill tonight.
14:09It's very smart.
14:10It's very deliberate.
14:11It's very methodical.
14:12But it leaves minimal room for Jay Cargill to make mistakes.
14:18Sometimes when you get in the ring, you get rocking and rolling.
14:20You get ahead of yourself.
14:21You make unforced errors.
14:23And that's what Cargill had to avoid tonight.
14:25And she's done so thus far.
14:26And Ripley showing some fight.
14:28Big uppercut by Cargill.
14:30Cargill drops the champion again.
14:32And it's been a one-sided affair here in the early going.
14:35I'm honestly a little surprised at how one-sided it's been.
14:38Rhea Ripley has been essentially ineffective to this point.
14:42And Rhea with a kick.
14:44And now a chop.
14:46Trying to fight back into this.
14:47Another chop by the champion.
14:49Driving Cargill back toward the corner.
14:52Cargill reversal and again sends Ripley back first into the turnbuckle.
15:00Jay just continuing to impose her will.
15:03Every rally that Ripley has had, Corey, has been snuffed out by Cargill.
15:09Decisively as well.
15:11Now another suplex delivered.
15:13Floats into the cover.
15:15And an air fall again.
15:16And a kick out at two by the champion.
15:18And again, perhaps an example of where Jay Cargill is making mistakes.
15:23She didn't hook the leg.
15:23It was a bit of an arrogant cover.
15:25You're not going to beat Rhea Ripley like that.
15:27I don't care who you are.
15:32This is for the WWE Women's Championship.
15:36Currently held by Rhea Ripley.
15:41First defending on Friday night's SmackDown as Ripley delivers body shots.
15:46And then just ripped to the floor by Cargill.
15:54And this has been alarmingly one-sided so far.
15:58It's been pure dominance.
16:05And again, Rhea showing signs of fight.
16:08Oh, Cargill with the right hand.
16:10Stuns Ripley.
16:11And again, the power of Jay.
16:12And that can be super frustrating.
16:13Nobody hold.
16:14If you're Rhea Ripley, you're firing off the best shots you can muster.
16:18And they're having little to no effect on the challenger, Jade Cargill.
16:21Cargill missed with the attempted elbow.
16:23And that may be a mistake because Cargill went shoulder first to the post.
16:26And now the champion has an opportunity to rally.
16:35Ripley with a couple of close clotheslines.
16:41Jade right under the chin.
16:44Face first.
16:45Goes Cargill.
16:47Missile drop kick to the back of the neck.
16:54And Rhea beginning to rally.
17:00Rhea Ripley.
17:01Ways lock in.
17:02A German suplex.
17:07Ripley giving chase to the outside.
17:10And now Rhea connects.
17:12And Ripley starting to feel it.
17:22And Rhea now climbing up top.
17:28Missile drop kick.
17:31Pulls to the cover.
17:33Hooks the inside leg.
17:35Near fall.
17:38Well, it seems to me as though Rhea finally realizing she's got to show the challenger something new.
17:45Taking it high risk.
17:46Picture perfect missile drop kick from the top turnbuckle.
17:49But not enough to put away the storm.
17:54Now it's Rhea who cannot become frustrated.
17:57You saw her once again favoring the lower back.
18:06Does Rhea have enough left in the tank to muscle up Cargill?
18:10Yes, she does.
18:12Oh, no, she doesn't.
18:13Jade Cargill turns into a back body drop.
18:16And again, psychologically, that can destroy a competitive.
18:19Ripley kicked both women down.
18:21Rhea was going for Razor's edge.
18:23And Cargill was able to count him.
18:25But then a well-placed kick by Ripley.
18:28And this right here could be a turning point in this match.
18:45This is, in fact, awesome.
18:52Champion and challenger face-to-face.
19:04Here we go.
19:05Both women unloading the heavy artillery in the center of the ring.
19:18And Rhea Ripley looking again in the upper hand.
19:21Jade went for that pump kick.
19:22Here it comes.
19:23And Jade now looking for jaded.
19:25Rhea Ripley able to duck underneath.
19:27Went for a drop kick.
19:27Sidestep by Jade.
19:29Jade went for the running knee.
19:30Headbutt by Ripley.
19:32And Jade might be out on her feet.
19:34And Rhea now in position for riptide.
19:37But Jade fights out of it.
19:38Credit to Cargill, who clearly did her homework.
19:41She's had multiple counters ready for just about everything Rhea has attempted tonight.
19:46Yeah, Ripley, though, delivered a kick again.
19:48And now has Cargill where she wants.
19:49So this time, will it work out in Rhea's favor?
19:51He'll get bad back.
19:53And a modified razor's edge delivered that time to Cargill.
19:57Shining wizard by Ripley.
20:00Cover now.
20:01Hook to the leg.
20:01Kick out by Cargill at two.
20:03And you got to wonder if the bad back didn't allow Ripley to hit all of that razor's edge.
20:07Certainly not with maximum impact, which may be the only reason Cargill is still in this matchup.
20:15Rhea Ripley feeling the effects of this battle.
20:18The physical exhaustion on the face of Ripley and Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship.
20:33Cargill back to her feet.
20:34Ripley as well.
20:36Rhea now.
20:36Oh, wow.
20:37Electric chair position.
20:39Jade, though, trying to hang on to the top rope here.
20:42And fight her way out of this.
20:44Uh-oh.
20:44Jade trying to pull Rhea over the top.
20:47And oh, no.
20:48And Rhea hit hard.
20:49The lower back.
20:50The lower back.
20:51Hit really hard in the apron.
20:52Ripley.
20:52Rhea Ripley doesn't allow it to affect her.
20:54Face first goes Cargill.
20:56How the hell is Ripley standing?
20:58I have absolutely no earthly idea.
21:01Cover by Ripley.
21:03To retain.
21:04Kick out.
21:06Well, I'm certain Cargill asking herself the same question.
21:10How is Rhea still in this fight?
21:13Did you see our lower back hit the apron as she came over the top?
21:17I thought that was it for Ripley.
21:20That makes two of us.
21:21But Ripley able to fight through the pain.
21:24Feeding off the live crowd in Italy.
21:27Feeding off the adrenaline.
21:29And the will to defend her WWE Women's Championship.
21:33Rhea could be looking for Riptide.
21:36Here we go.
21:38And now Jake Cargill, though, able to counter.
21:41And Jade now looking for Jade.
21:42And Rhea Ripley able to slip underneath.
21:45Ripley now again in the Riptide position.
21:48Cargill turns it into a DDT.
21:51What a counter by the number one contender.
21:53You don't have to like her, but damn it, put some respect on Cargill's name.
21:58And here's the cover by Cargill.
22:01We are watching the maturation process of Jade Cargill in real time tonight.
22:06We are seeing before our very eyes, Jade Cargill become who she has told us she's been since she arrived.
22:14Yeah, the critics be damned.
22:16Cargill could be closing in on the WWE Championship.
22:20Jade now with Rhea up.
22:22Rhea, though, lands on her feet.
22:23Get the back give out.
22:24Cargill into the corner.
22:25Nobody home.
22:27Ripley now misses wildly.
22:29Jade Cargill.
22:30That's it now powerbomb for the win.
22:32Ripley's got a kick and two again.
22:35Another near fall.
22:36And his frustration starting to set in.
22:38It definitely is.
22:39And that's exactly what Cargill needs to avoid after a blue thunderbomb failed to put Ripley away.
22:46Jade needs to figure out how to keep her foot on the gas pedal.
22:49She is this close to the finish line.
22:53An incredible atmosphere here tonight in Italy.
22:57Sold-out crowd in Alpe Arena.
23:00Jade Cargill could be closing in on her second reign as WWE Women's Champion.
23:08Jade to the top rope.
23:10Rhea Ripley meets her there with a chop.
23:12Questionable decision by the challenger, Cargill.
23:16Jade has stayed well within herself, Corey, up to that point.
23:23Rhea going to meet her there.
23:26Cargill trying to find her footing.
23:28This could backfire in spectacular fashion for the challenger.
23:34Although Jade now hooking Ripley.
23:37Top rope.
23:38Superplex.
23:40Rhea Ripley trying to capitalize.
23:43Crawling toward a cover.
23:45Hook of the leg.
23:47Another near fall for the champion.
23:50And now Rhea has to wonder, what the hell do I have to do?
23:53Ripley's beside herself right now, Cole.
23:58I think reality is finally sinking into Rhea Ripley.
24:02This isn't the same Jade Cargill I've been at WrestleMania.
24:05Oh, no.
24:05What's your problem?
24:06B-Fab and Meechid marching to the ring.
24:10And you had to wonder where Jade Cargill's backup was and when they were going to show up tonight.
24:15And Ripley now out.
24:16Oh!
24:17Pumpkin by Cargill.
24:19Rhea should have expected this.
24:21And off the distraction.
24:22Rhea turns it into a stop to the midsection.
24:26Ripley now.
24:28Looking for Riptide.
24:30This could do it.
24:32Riptide connects.
24:34Cover on Cargill.
24:37And Meechid able to grab the leg of Cargill and place it on the bottom rope.
24:45I think that's going to cost D-Thout as well it should.
24:48She got caught red-handed.
24:53Our official understands the magnitude of the situation, the importance of the championship.
24:58That was B-Fab who put Ripley's leg, I should say Jade's leg, on the bottom rope, allowing this matchup
25:05to continue.
25:08Now's not the time, Rhea.
25:15Hey!
25:16The Queen!
25:17Charlotte Flair is here!
25:21And Jade's got a score to settle after Jade put her partner and friend Alexa Bliss through a chair Friday
25:28night.
25:29Another pump kick in the ring from Cargill.
25:32Jade's going to steal this thing.
25:33Here it comes!
25:35Looking for Jade in!
25:37Cover by Cargill!
25:39And turn him out of spare play!
25:41This time Charlotte saving Rhea's title reign!
25:54Two paths that seem to cross inevitably.
26:00Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair.
26:03Cargill muscling up Ripley.
26:05Ripley now with a headbutt.
26:07Hooking Cargill.
26:08Rip time!
26:12Stacks are up!
26:14Ripley retains!
26:19Here is your winner, and still, the WWE Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley!
26:31Well, Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair, Corey, found a common enemy, and were able to put their animosities aside tonight.
26:42Well, ladies and gentlemen, still to come over on the ESPN app with the unlimited plan.
26:46Tribal Combat, Roman and Jacob, Oma Lesnar, Becky Solruka, live on the ESPN app.
