00:11It was sort of like sardined and you could feel other people kind of, you know,
00:15in different levels of anguish, lots of screams, lots of thudding.
00:22Then I was dragged sort of along a corridor.
00:26They looked at my passport.
00:28Yeah, they recognised that I'd been there before
00:32and they told me that he had an American accent
00:36and he said, I want to kill someone today and it potentially might be you.
00:41And then I was dragged towards what we sort of ended up calling like a torture tunnel.
00:49It's a shipping container that, you know, kind of had an entrance to it
00:54where you could vaguely see the silhouette of five soldiers inside
00:59and I was pushed inside that space.
01:04I was slapped and kicked.
01:07I was sexually assaulted.
01:08They threw me on the ground.
01:10They broke my coccyx, kicked me in the back.
01:13And, you know, the strangest thing and the thing that I remember the most
01:17is not the blows and it was not the sort of like the, you know,
01:21the internal sexual assault.
01:24It was this really, really big man who was pulling at my hair like a child,
01:33like a boy would in a playground, you know, doing it to a girl
01:37that he didn't really understand.
01:38And, you know, it was like, it was really infantile and pure.

01:44but when you say that you were sexually assaulted, it's important this.
01:48What exactly did they do?
01:49So they wrenched my trousers and my underwear down
01:53and it felt like that it was inserted with a hand.
01:58It wasn't a gun.
01:59I found out later that other people had guns inserted inside them.
02:03You know, I don't think that it was a penis,
02:05but it's like there was so much going on, but I was vaginally raped
02:10by one of the male soldiers.

02:14As I was, you know, you're basically, your head's down.
02:17They're putting you in a stress position, so your head's down
02:20and your sort of posterior is very sort of available to be, you know,
02:25dealt with and your hands are behind your back
02:27and your ankles are shackled.
02:31So, yeah, it's while you're being sort of jostled, hit, sworn at in the dark.
02:40I mean, it's a really discombobulating, horrific experience.
02:44Then a door was opened and I was thrown out into an open kind of area
02:49where I could see probably maybe about 60 people on the deck of that boat
