00:00If you want to be transported back to old Hollywood, keep watching. I got to attend a
00:04private preview of the Marilyn Monroe and Chanel No. 5 exhibit at the Academy Museum in LA.
00:08One of the first things you see when you walk in is Marilyn's pink dress from the film
00:12Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and of course a replica of the iconic white subway dress made by the
00:16original costume designer William Trevilla. Original sketches illustrated by Bob Mackie
00:20and fabric swatches of the Happy Birthday dress are also on display. You also get to see lots
00:24of other costumes from films and premieres like Monkey Business and The Seven Year Itch,
00:28but what I was personally most excited to see was Marilyn's Erno Laszlo makeup collection and
00:32bottle of Chanel No. 5, which of course when asked what she wore to bed she was famously quoted saying
00:36she only wears Chanel No. 5. You can also see incredible items like her personal telephone
00:40book, handwritten business card, SAG membership card, and director's chair, plus plenty more
00:45accessories and iconic photographs. To see Hollywood history up close be sure to check out the Marilyn
00:49Monroe and Chanel No. 5 exhibit at the Academy Museum for yourself.
