00:00EMA has started evaluating an application to extend the use of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine
00:07to young children aged 5 to 11. The application is based on a dose which is three times lower
00:16than the approved dose for adults. The proposed doses schedule is to maintain two doses given
00:22at least three weeks apart. A recommendation is expected within approximately two months.
00:29Indeed, we are seeing some promising results from studies that confirm that this approach
00:34would trigger with certain vaccine combinations a strong immune response than when the same
00:40vaccine is used for an additional shot. Overall, it seems that this strategy is something that
00:47all types of vaccines could be benefiting from and indeed different combinations would still
00:52be extremely valuable.
