04:46Welcome to the treehouse
04:47It's honestly one of the coziest places I ever stayed in
04:50And my dream is to build something exactly like this
04:54If I get my hands on some land one day
04:56There's a pretty big bed up here
04:58With some really nice views over the hills and trees
05:00And you access it
05:04With this ladder
05:05And during the day you kind of move it out of the way
05:08To maximize the space in here
05:10It's got a sofa here
05:11And you can also sit on the windowsill
05:12And enjoy the views over the camp
05:14I've been spending a lot of time reading there
05:16And it's also got a wood burner
05:18To keep the place nice and warm
05:20And I've definitely been needing that
05:22Because it's been very very cold here
05:24And yeah the whole place is built around this tree
05:27Which is so beautiful
05:28I feel so inspired
05:29I've been looking at lots of pictures
05:31On how to build it
05:33And how to build the foundations and stuff
05:35Yeah I really want to recreate something like this one day
05:38This is the outside area
05:39And to access the ground level
05:41You have to cross the road bridge
05:42And go down the stairs
05:44This is the outdoor sitting area
05:45Which is definitely my favorite corner of the camp
05:47I drink my morning coffee here every day
05:50And in the warmer months
05:51You also often get birds visiting you here
05:54Which is just so lovely
05:55And of course there's a big fireplace
05:57With more seating around it
05:59Which is a must have
06:00When you're living in an outdoor camp
06:01In this corner is the outdoor kitchen
06:03It's really nice and sheltered
06:05So even if it's cold and stormy
06:07Which happens a lot in Wales
06:08You can still cook here without freezing to the bone
06:11It runs on gas
06:11And has a fridge, cooker and running water
06:14And back here we have the hot tub
06:16Which is operated with a wood fire oven
06:18I haven't actually used it in my time here yet
06:20But I'm intending to do so later today
06:22And these two outhouses are the hot shower
06:24Which runs on gas
06:25And the separating compost toilet
06:30And the two caravans in the camp
06:32Are just extra accommodation
06:33If you're coming to stay here as a group
06:35I actually slept in this red one
06:38Last time I was here
06:39And it was just so cozy
06:55Lately I noticed a shift within myself
06:59Before I started living a simpler life
07:01I always had to find a way to keep myself busy
07:04Working multiple jobs
07:07And filling every gap with volunteer work
07:10And even reading books related to work
07:12Before bed and when I first woke up
07:15I definitely used to define my worth
07:18Through my productivity
07:19And honestly
07:21Letting go of that mindset
07:22Has been one of the hardest things I've ever done
07:25Especially when it's the narrative
07:27Society repeats to us over and over
07:32But the longer I spend away from civilization
07:35The more I realize that life itself is a gift
07:39And that our existence holds value
07:42Simply because we get to experience
07:44This beautiful planet
07:45And for me there's so much meaning
07:49In the small human things
07:51Like looking after our bodies
07:53Eating good food
07:55And breathing in the fresh forest air
08:17When you live a very outdoorsy lifestyle
08:20Things rarely go as planned
08:22And especially during these darker months
08:25Of the year
08:25You have to learn to accept
08:27That there's a limit
08:28To how much you can do in a day
08:31The daylight becomes both your guide
08:33And your boundary
08:34And today I got rained off
08:36While trying to heat up the hot tub
08:38And had to accept that
08:40It was just not to be this time
08:44Living this way has definitely taught me
08:46Acceptance and adaptability
08:48And that maybe our days
08:51Don't have to be packed
08:52With lots of tasks
08:53And activities to be meaningful
09:19And everything will appear
09:21If you can find that
