The search and rescue operation for missing female hiker Jaslinda Saludin, 49, at Gunung Batu Putih near Tapah has now been intensified with additional manpower.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Sayani Saidon said the additional personnel are part of a plan to mount an integrated, thorough operation in the focused search sector.

00:19As of Sunday morning, 21 rescue personnel remained deployed in the search area, comprising members of the Fire and Rescue
00:27Department, the Forestry Department and the Perak Forestry Mountain Guides.
00:32Authorities said communication with rescue teams on the ground remains difficult due to poor phone coverage in the mountainous terrain.
00:39Meanwhile, checks on a wildlife camera trap in the Bukit Berapit Dua area did not reveal any images of the
00:46missing hiker.
00:47Rescuers have since moved to another camera trap near Gunung Rayu to retrieve a memory card for further analysis as
00:55they continue investigating the possibility that Jaslinda may have strayed from the main trekking route.
