00:00I can't speculate any better than anyone else as to why this is happening.
00:03What I can do is I can document what I saw.
00:06On one day, the Saturday before I left Nassar Hospital to come home to England,
00:13four young teenage boys were brought in, all of whom had been shot in the testicles.
00:18Oh, come on now.
00:20Nowhere else.
00:20I was called to the operating theatre by one of my guards and surgical colleagues,
00:24who, he had a 12-year-old boy on the operating table.
00:29And he'd been shot.
00:30It had gone through his aorta.
00:31He was dying.
00:32He was bleeding.
00:33They couldn't stop the bleeding.
00:34So they asked for my help.
00:35I went in there.
00:37I couldn't stop it either, by which time his clotting had all gone wrong.
00:42This happens in severe injuries.
00:44So he was bleeding out from there, and he died on the operating table under our hands.
00:48Awful.
00:4912 years old.
00:5012-year-old.
00:51And his family told us, had come with him, that he had been sent by – these were all
00:59starving.
01:00They were all very weak.
01:01So the young teenage boys are the ones who were sent out because they're the strongest
01:05to get the food.
01:06And he'd been shot by an Israeli soldier there.
01:10Why?
01:10And they'd witnessed this.
01:11Well, I can't speculate any better than anyone else as to why this is happening.
01:16What I can do is I can document what I saw, and I can document what I heard from –
01:23and
01:24it was a similar story from all the victims' families, from those that survived, from the
01:29victims themselves, from Gazan health care workers who went to these food sites in order
01:35to get food for their families.
01:37They all described the same things, how these young teenage boys were being shot by Israeli
01:42soldiers.
01:43They had noticed in the ER how there were different body parts being targeted on different
01:51days at the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation food distribution points.
01:56And other emergency room doctors and nurses I knew corroborated this, that 19 young teenage
02:03boys had all come in in one day, all of whom had been shot in the head and neck.
02:08Nowhere else, just the head and neck.
02:10Another day, they came in predominantly with chest injuries.
02:13Another day, they came in predominantly with abdominal gunshot wounds.
02:17And we noticed this.
02:18I started speaking to my fellow surgeons in the operating theatres, and we all noticed
02:23this pattern as well.
02:25On one day, the Saturday before I left Nassar Hospital to come home to England, four young
02:33teenage boys were brought in, all of whom had been shot in the testicles, just the testicles.
02:38Nowhere else.
02:39And the pattern of injuries that we all witnessed was so striking that it was clearly beyond
02:50coincidental.
02:51And it seemed to us that there was a game of target practice.
02:55And these were all children who'd been shot, Palestinians who'd been shot at Gaza Humanitarian
03:00Foundation food distribution sites.
03:02Absolutely.
03:02And I operate on a lot of them.
03:04I also saw victims, young women who had been shot whilst in their tents in Al Mawasi, quadcopters
03:13hovering over the tents, spraying bullets indiscriminately onto the tents.
03:19So I had one woman who was three months pregnant, who came in with a gunshot wound and I operated
03:26on.
03:26We saved her life.
03:27The baby survived as well, but the bullet had missed her pregnant uterus by about two
03:31or three centimetres.
03:32We saw many examples of that.
03:34I saw them on my first trip in December 2023.
03:39We saw in Al Aqsa.
03:41We had victims coming in from quadcopter shooting.
03:43What did you think of all of this?
03:45I could not believe what I was hearing.
03:48I didn't believe a lot of it early on, to be honest with you, Saka.
03:51I was naive, but I saw so much on all these trips.
03:58I saw so much clear evidence of children and women being targeted that I believe all of it.
04:05There was an episode about 18 months ago, I think, in Al Nasser Pediatric Hospital in
04:13Gaza City, I think about 18 months ago, when the Israeli military invaded the hospital, kicked
04:18out all the local staff and there were six neonates left in the incubators when they were
04:26kicked out.
04:26And they said, you know, there are six babies there and they were assured they'd be fine.
04:30The Israeli military left after two or three weeks and the doctors, some of whom I knew,
04:36went back in there and those six babies were there in the incubators, dead, their bodies
04:42rotting.
04:42Oh, come on now.
04:43And there are many other similar stories like that.
