00:00Ukraine launches major overnight strikes against Russian military and energy infrastructure
00:05across multiple regions, including an Su-34 bomber base, an aircraft repair plant, an oil
00:12refinery, and Russia's Black Sea Fleet Aviation Headquarters in occupied Crimea. The operation
00:18marked one of the most ambitious Ukrainian long-range strike campaigns in recent months,
00:22spanning targets from Voronezh Oblast in central Russia to Krasnodar Krai on the Black Sea coast
00:28and occupied Crimea. Multiple strategic targets hit. Baltimore Air Base, Voronezh Oblast.
00:36The Baltimore military airfield in Voronezh, home to the 47th Aviation Regiment, equipped with Su-34
00:42frontline bombers, came under attack early Wednesday. The Su-34 is one of the primary Russian aircraft
00:49used to launch glide bombs, KABs, against Ukrainian cities and frontline positions. Local officials
00:56confirmed the strike, with Voronezh Oblast governor Alexander Gusev stating that Russian air defenses
01:02shot down two high-speed targets. He claimed debris damaged a tire repair shop and an auxiliary building,
01:09but no casualties. However, analysis of photos and videos posted on social media, including by the
01:16Russian telegram channel Astra, showed plumes of smoke rising from the airbase area, suggesting
01:21significant damage. The affected area reportedly includes the base's technical maintenance complex and
01:27nearby aircraft parking zones. OSINT analysts suggest the attack likely involved storm-shadow cruise missiles,
01:34based on the short alert time and officials' description of high-speed targets, a characteristic more consistent
01:40with cruise missiles than drones. The base has been attacked several times before. In October 2024, Ukraine struck the
01:48Borosoglevsk military airfield in Voronezh, targeting a guided bomb depot and Su-34-Su-35 parking areas.
01:57325th Aircraft Repair Plant, Taganrog
02:01Simultaneously, Ukrainian forces struck an aviation enterprise in Taganrog-Rostov Oblast. Based on geo-located footage,
02:09the target appears to be the 325th Aircraft Repair Plant, a strategically vital facility.
02:15This plant is Russia's only facility specializing in overhauling AN-12 and AN-72 military transport
02:22aircraft, as well as repairing components for A-50 early warning aircraft. It also services Su-24
02:29bombers, Su-25 attack jets, and MI-8 and MI-24 helicopters. Rostov Oblast Governor Yuri Slusar
02:37confirmed the strike, claiming air defenses shot down one missile over Taganrog. He stated that debris
02:43injured two women, one seriously. The plant has been sanctioned by the EU, the United States,
02:48and Ukraine for its role in supporting Russia's war effort.
02:51Tuopse oil refinery, Krasnodar Krai. The Tuopse oil refinery, one of the largest oil processing
02:58facilities in southern Russia, was struck overnight, triggering a fire and heavy smoke at the facility.
03:05The refinery has an annual processing capacity of approximately 12 million tons of oil and produces
03:11fuel used to supply the Russian armed forces. It is Russia's only oil refinery on the Black Sea coast,
03:17making it a strategically vital facility for processing and exporting Russian oil,
03:23and a logistics hub for military operations in southern Ukraine.
03:27This marks the fifth attack on the Tuopse refinery during the spring of 2026.
03:32Previous strikes targeted the refinery and port infrastructure on April 16th, April 20th, April 28th, and May 1st.
03:40According to Ukraine's general staff, prior strikes have already cost Russia over $300 million in damage.
03:48Black Sea Fleet Aviation Headquarters, Sevastopol.
03:52Explosions were reported in occupied Sevastopol overnight, with Russian air defense systems activated.
03:58The ATASH military guerrilla movement claimed the strike hit the aviation headquarters of Russia's Black Sea Fleet on Gogol Street.
04:06The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed it used Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles to strike software and hardware complexes of
04:14Russian Air Force automated reconnaissance systems in the areas of Voronezh, Taganrog, and Sevastopol.
04:21The building has been used by Russian forces as a key command and control point for fleet operations,
04:26despite claims that the Black Sea Fleet had been relocated to Novorossiysk.
04:31Occupation Governor Mikhail Rezvojyev announced air defense operations and claimed one drone was downed on the northern side of the
04:38city.
04:39Russian Air Defense Claims
04:41Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 62 Ukrainian drones over occupied Crimea, the Sea of
04:50Azov, and Russian regions.
04:52The ministry also claimed to have intercepted 140 Ukrainian drones overnight, but did not specify how many were destroyed.
05:00However, local footage and monitoring channels contradicted the official narrative, showing fires and explosions at multiple strategic sites, including at
05:10the Baltimore base, the Taganrog Repair Plant, and the Tuopsy Refinery.
05:15Storm Shadow Strikes Confirmed
05:17Ukraine's general staff officially confirmed that the Ukrainian Air Force used Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles, supplied by Britain
05:26and France, to strike Russian reconnaissance automation systems in Voronezh, Taganrog, and Sevastopol.
05:33Ukraine's defense forces will continue systematically taking measures to weaken the military economic potential of the Russian occupiers and force
05:41Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine, the general staff stated.
05:46Strikes on Occupied Ukrainian Territory
05:49In addition to strikes inside Russia, Ukrainian forces hit multiple Russian military targets in occupied Ukrainian territory.
05:58An S-368 airborne target detection radar station in Feodosia, occupied Crimea, designed to detect, track, and transmit coordinates of
06:08air targets for Russia's air defense system.
06:10Russian drone command posts near Kalinovay and Novolkhodovka, Donetsk region.
06:15Logistics depots near Mariupol, Novolkhodovka, and Buchas.
06:21An ammunition depot near Hrabovey, Donetsk region.
06:24Ukraine's general staff also confirmed that on May 27th, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian command post near Paraskovivka, Donetsk region.
06:33The facility was destroyed, and preliminary reports indicate 18 Russian servicemen were killed.
06:39Long-range sanctions campaign intensifies.
06:42The strikes are part of Ukraine's ongoing long-range sanctions campaign targeting Russia's military, industrial, and energy infrastructure far behind
06:50the front lines.
06:51Kyiv seeks to impose higher costs on Moscow's war effort by disrupting oil refining, aircraft repair, and military command capabilities.
07:01Recent weeks have seen increasing Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries.
07:05On May 21st, the Cizran oil refinery, over 800 kilometers from Ukraine, was attacked.
07:12Yaroslavl's oil refinery was also targeted.
07:15Following a series of drone attacks, several of Russia's largest refineries in central Russia have reduced or completely halted fuel
07:23production.
07:24Russian retaliation?
07:25Russia, meanwhile, has continued its own strikes against Ukraine.
07:30Over the May 23 to 24 weekend, Russia launched a major aerial assault on Ukraine, with approximately 90 missiles and
07:37600 drones,
07:39including the rare deployment of Orishnik hypersonic ballistic missiles targeting the Kyiv region.
07:44On May 29th, Ukrainian air defenses claimed to have shot down 217 out of 232 Russian missiles launched overnight,
07:52an unusually high success rate, though figures could not be independently verified.
07:57War in its fifth year
07:59Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, has now entered its fifth year.
08:07The war has lasted four years and three months.
08:11Moscow reportedly plans to capture the Donbass region, approximately 35,000 square kilometers, by the end of 2026,
08:18though military experts remain skeptical of Russia's ability to secure control.
08:23Ukraine claims that since Russian military operations intensified in Donbass,
08:28Ukrainian forces have retaken approximately 300 to 600 square kilometers of territory from Russian forces in Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.
08:36The Institute for the Study of War has noted that Moscow is unlikely to achieve a decisive victory in the
08:42fifth year of the conflict,
08:43as Ukraine retains the ability to repel attacks and retake positions from Russian forces.
