EU leaders denounce Russia's 'reckless' escalation after drone hits Romania

Ursula von der Leyen, António Costa and Kaja Kallas have condemened Russia for violating Romania's airspace after a drone hit the city of Galați.

00:01Two people have been injured after a Russian drone carrying explosives crashed in the eastern city of Galati in Romania,
00:10sparking a fire on the roof of a residential apartment block, according to Bucharest.
00:15Romania has summoned the Russian ambassador to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
00:21and have told Russia that they are not welcome anymore in Romania.
00:27According to this situation, Consul General of the Russian Federation of Constanze has been declared a non-grata
00:35and the Consul General of the Russian Federation of Constanze will be closed.
00:43Romanian Defence Minister Radu Miruza said that the drone was detected by radars
00:50and flew in Romanian airspace for around four minutes.
00:53The explosives on board the drone detonated when it hit the building, Miruza added.
00:59The incident has sparked strong criticism from leaders across Europe.
