Google’s SynthID embeds invisible watermarks in AI content created with Google tools. This feature will also be used by other big tech companies now, making AI images easier to identify.

00:05other big tech companies to tackle the problem.
00:08One promising solution is watermarks. You might have seen them on Sora videos, for example.
00:13They show who created the content, but they're easy to remove.
00:16That's why invisible watermarks matter.
00:19Google created SynthID, which automatically embeds a hidden label when you generate images or videos with its AI tools.
00:26SynthID can also flag AI-generated content, but until now, mostly from media made with Google tools.
00:33That's changing. Google says companies like OpenAI and NVIDIA will adopt the tech,
00:38so content created with tools like ChatGPT will also carry the invisible watermarks.
00:44You can already use the feature in Gemini, and soon directly in Chrome.
00:48It won't stop all AI fakes, but it could make them much harder to hide.
