00:09Israel has 15 years left. That's not a threat from a fringe militia. That's the official
00:16hajj message delivered to over a billion Muslims from Iran's brand new supreme leader. And this
00:23isn't the first time Iran's leadership has put a countdown on Israel's existence. But this time
00:29the clock is ticking faster and the man saying it is brand new to the job. Let's back up. Iran's
00:36old
00:37supreme leader Ali Khamenei, one of the most powerful men in the Middle East for over 30 years,
00:42was assassinated earlier this year. His son, Mujtaba Khamenei, took over. And on May 26th,
00:49the holy day of Hajj, when millions of Muslims gather in Mecca, Mujtaba issued his formal message
00:56to the Islamic world. He called Israel an unstable Zionist regime, a cancerous tumor in its final
01:04stages of its cursed existence. And he put a number on it, 15 years. Now here's the wild part.
01:11His father made a similar prediction back in 2015. He gave Israel 25 years. That clock runs out around
01:192040. Mujtaba just shortened the timeline by a decade. So what exactly did he say? And why does
01:26it matter? In his Hajj message, which was read on state television since Mujtaba has made no public
01:33video appearances yet, he declared that death to America and death to Israel would remain enduring
01:40rallying cries for the Islamic world, especially among youth. He praised Iranian missile and drone strikes
01:47against the U.S. and Israel on land, at sea, and in the air. He warned Gulf states against hosting
01:54U.S.
01:55military bases, and he vowed to protect Iran's nuclear and missile programs as, quote, national assets.
02:02He also warned that regional countries would no longer shield U.S. bases, signaling a so-called new
02:09order in the Middle East. Strong words, but are they anything more than words?
02:14Iran is not in a position of strength right now. The country is dealing with massive economic damage,
02:21war losses, widespread internal protests, and ongoing nuclear negotiations with the U.S.
02:28And these kinds of predictions, they have a history of not aging well. Khamenei Sr. made similar forecasts
02:35in 2015 and 2016. None materialized. But Mujtaba is a new, untested leader, trying to consolidate power
02:44after his father's violent death. He needs to signal strength to hardliners at home, to proxy groups like
02:51Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, and to rivals abroad. And there's another layer. This message was
02:58delivered at active, fragile U.S.-Iran negotiations, covering nuclear issues, sanctions, and the Strait of
03:05Hormuz. So what do we make of all this? Is Mujtaba Khamenei a dangerous new force who will follow
03:12through on his father's ideology, but faster, harder, more recklessly? Or is this the same script
03:19recycled for a new leader who needs to prove himself? The honest answer is, we don't fully know yet.
03:26He's made no video appearances. He governs through written statements read on state TV.
03:32His internal grip on power is still being tested, but the words he's choosing right out of the gate
03:38tell us something about which direction he wants to take Iran.
